I payed and downloaded Post Oil Bulletin No 2 from Matt Savinar's site, and I'm impressed. Dmitry Orlov has surpassed himself in cultural reflexions and Matt has dug up some really fascinating satellite images.

These guys has done a really valuable job, and they deserve the income. This download gave a better reading experience than any magazine I could buy.

I encourage you to go there and get it. Out of respect, I wont share it, even if someone else do! Haven't bothered to read Heinberg's piece yet. Maybe later.

This is well worth $8. £5.40 something in english. I thought Matt Savinar was arrogant, and maybe he is but this publication begs to be paid for. Good work.

P.S. I think I have misunderstood Matts sarcasm, and maybe he should qualify it first in future. oh yes and Heinbergs essay is fine. I like hippies.

I have read that e-book as well and it gets highest marks in my book. The book consists of 2 longer essays by Dmitry Orlov and Richard Heinberg and an assortment of satellite photos compiled by Matt. Dmitry Orlov’s piece, “Thriving in an Age of Collapse” comprises the majority of the written material in this e-book and takes a no-nonsense post-soviet survivor mentality to the economic and political fallouts that depletion will create. Richard Heinberg’s piece, “A Peak Oil Survival Manual” comes from his Museletters and details the economic fallout of the liquid fuel crisis and outlines more general attitudes and thinking patterns that will help post-Peak. Matt’s visual conclusion ties these two together by showing the enormous scope of the society that we will have to change.

Dmitry Orlov lays out personal ramifications and solutions to all of the key areas of our petro-dependant lives. From transportation, to food, to clothing, to shelter, to medicine, to law, and to money, he outlines general sensible principles to ensure survival. Then, he delves into his advice for specific profiles provided by Matt including profiles for an 18 year old, boomers, and young professionals. Never politically correct, he calls the shots as he sees them and does a good job of explaining his reasoning behind his advice. No offense to Matt or Richard, but this article is the meat of this e-book and is worth the price in and of itself.

The other two articles take a much higher level approach, outlining generalities of “What may happen” and “What should I do”. Combined, they enhance the core article and provide some information on where you may NOT want to live in the next 30 years. The advice given seems sound, if a bit vague. I hope they both can expand on their work in a future installment.

In conclusion, if you at least feel that the liquid fuel crisis known as Peak Oil will create a depression in the US, then you will not regret purchasing this e-book. The book provides hands on, and apparently hard earned, crash survival skills beyond the “bug out” or “family farm” options that we typically see posted on this site. Moreover, by supporting this product, you assure that Dmitry Orlov will have more time and motivation to pass on his hard earned information and that Matt can organize future installments from other notable Peak Oil authors. Kudos to Dmitry, Matt, and Richard for their work in putting this together.
