I noticed the mention of urban heat islands' rising columns of heat combining with chunks of the falling mesosphere to create these intense storms. Any modicum of truth with that? Are we really testing the mesosphere's relative stability with increasing greenhouse gases?

If they redefine the specifications for the different category levels, then should they not reclassify all the historical hurricanes?

At least, they should be asteriks next to the hurricanes.

Nobody's redefining anything. It's just another disaster miniseries, designed to shore up disappointing network TV ratings. :-D
