Indeed, and could you seriously picture a world were we can extract at any rate? The globalization, the pollution, the complexity would drive the Earth to drink, thank God for Peak Oil.

Better Peak Oil than climate disruption and pollution. Mother Nature won't be able to fix them.

Imagine the die off if we went from 120mpd to nil on new years eve 2030! 8O From 8 billion to 2 billion in a year or so, thats a lot of death!

It's kind of like using a dimmer switch to turn the lights on in the morning, would you rather have a gradual increase of illumination (peak, gradual I hope!) or blind yourself by quickly switching the lights on (the sudden crash of completely sucking the earth dry)? I know I don't like that sensation at all personally. :-x
