I guarantee if you do this, that your friends & family will experience all the despair & hopelessness you are feeling now... times 10.

Your solution to the fear of the future, is to pass the buck to your loved ones.

You'll be done, but they not only get to live your nightmare for you, but get to do it filled with the despair, depression & guilt you will lay on their doorstep.

I promise that the pain & despair you feel today, is nothing compared to the pain & suffering you will visit on the people who care about you.

If you knew just how painful it would be for your loved ones, you would gladly accept ANY alternative, even your own suffering.

Or put another way...

What are you willing to endure, to save your loved ones from suffering?

DJ, I too suffer from clinical depression/anxiety. But everybody here is right; your family will need you. If you are right about the future you will be vitally important to your family. PO in my opinion is a huge problem for industrial civilisation but it isn't really any more of an individual problem for people than life is anyway. People from any background can go off the rails and fail to cope with life.

The advice about medication is good, I'm on medication myself and it is helping. I'm certainly not religious; believe it or not I think this helps me, I value life, both my own and of all living things, I don't see death as an escape to anywhere; it's merely the worst thing that can happen for all involved - the end of hope.

Personally, I don't see where the whole "future might now be THAT bad" idea comes from. Has anyone else here read Life After the Oil Crash? Is Matt Savinar not a well educated and believable source?

I'm with Evltre, go talk to a professional cause Aaron has it right on the nose there is no way you could get your family to agree to something as wasteful as killing yourself. Then your mother would likely cry herself to sleep everynight torturing herself with memories of you growing up and saying I love you for the first time.

Families who loose someone never recover. EVER. Either you are depressed or you are in torment, either way there are things you can do. But you have to do them, no one else can save you. so repay your mothers love and take the bull by the horns. and Good Luck
