You wanna switch my lights off? You die!

In Germany a guy who couldn't pay his electricity bills shot an employee of an electricity company who came to his flat to switch his line off the grid.
Tragic: The employee who got shot was doing the shift of an ill colleague.

The perpetrator is obviously nuts and is now locked up in a mental institution. He shot the man to death with a revolver, put the body in a sleeping bag and kept him in the flat...

Will we see more of this? Maybe not that extreme, but there will surely be a rising number of violent conflicts...

Announcement of the future #1 : "... thereafter, utility employees going out on grid-disconnect missions will be accompanied by an armed squad ..."

Announcement of the future #2 : "... the utility company now has the ability to disconnect the power to individual non-paying residential units with a few clicks of a keyboard ..."

Doomer porn #1 : "... the utility company has no power to sell to anyone on the grid regardless of the price. You're on your own, folks."

Doomer porn #2 : "There is no grid. It's all in your mind."

A lot of the American posters here are prepared to kill anyone from "the property-grabbing gubmint" so I guess we'll see more of this kind of thing in the future.

BTW, why was a mentally ill person allowed to own a gun? I bet it was an illegal gun. That's the European way. Banning guns means that only criminals can possess them. If that electricity guy had carried a gun, maybe he would have been alive today.

Turning off your electricity hardly defines "property grabbing gubmint".

Hmm... I thought the incident in question happened in Germany. So it really reflects badly on Germans, not Americans.

Lets not confuse the issue with facts.

He's not crazy. You don't mess with a man's electricity... or his family.

Through a carefully planned program of environmentally sensitive "Eco-reaping", many modern services like electricity can be sustained indefinitely.

This new "on demand" solution should serve the reaping community well, by limiting reaping opportunities to sustainable levels of harvest. By avoiding over-reaping any given area, through a program of reap rotation, many modern comforts will be available for decades and beyond.
The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

Yes I know that he's German. It happened near Emmendingen which is a lovely little town near Freiburg. If you go there, you should visit the castle ruin Hochburg. Very interesting.
