According to an article in Discover Magazine about spiders, these 'camel spider' pictures are a fraud and camel spiders never get any larger than a human hand. (actually its just a trick of perspective with the spiders being much more close up, but the myth has spread of these huge camel spiders)

Your posts get more and more strange... I whish I had some of that stuff you're smoking...

The Camel Spiders (or Wind Scorpions) are, as you say, not especially large. If you carefully study this, by now famous picture, you'd see that the creatures look big because of the angle. Compare the size of the animals to the sleeve of the person who's holding them. Tell me now what you see...

There are a lot of rumurs about these animals circulating the web. Some say that they eat the flesh of sleeping peoples faces and some say that they are very poisonous. They are in fact completely harmless.
