')... Also if you truly think war is the last option, could you conceed the Bush Administration is showing amazing restraint and diplomatic savy in dealing with North Korea? Are they working together with China and Japan or are they pissing off thasia by doing it alone. I wonder what Mrs.Sheehans thoughts are towards our Diplomatic stance on Korea. This is a situation that could escalate into military action. Think we will see 100,000 to 300,000 march in the streets with folks that are so happy 2000 soldiers have not died in Korea? As someone from the south, Why would a bigoted redneck Texan put a black woman in a position like Secretary of state?


Why would they send soldiers to North Korea, have they got huge oil fields like Iraq? There is nothing there that's word something to the US. They just don't want them to have nukes, because North Korea doesn't like the US. So if they would declare war on North Korea I think they would just bomb those facilities, no need to bring in the troops.

Condoleezza Rice is on the same page as those other neoconservatives, placing people who think the same at all the top spots, Chevron link, reason enough I think.


For the last 50 years 38th parallel in Korea has the highest concentration of US Army personel in the world, yet no oil fields.

Otherwise, we wouldn't be there.

However, I believe we will continue to withdraw and allow the Chinese to manage Korea.

I think China and the US are playing monopoly.
Now why didn't I take the blue pill.

I totally agree. That shows that we invaded Iraq for the oil and we knew they didn't have WMDs. I wouldn't call it diplomatic savy, it's just common sense. If we attack N Korea they nuke -somebody-. And that somebody may want to take it out of our hide.

At the end of the day, nobody doesn't want to nuke nobody. It would be an act of desparation. That's why diplomacy makes sense for any nuclear power. And that's probably why Iran wants a nuclear weapon.


God I really hope you are right.

Could you imagine if Iraq really had a small nuke made from yellow cake uranium that was never sent from Lybia, and since radio transmissions Colin Powell played to the united nations about things that were moved around to avoid UN inspections were turned out to be an intellegence error. I sure am glad nothing was ever smuggled it to Syria to go to be forwarded to a American city because we moved to slow. But since seeing is believing and we cant see it-it must have never existed.

A small nuke is a different story. It's not a WMD and it's something where you can throw a rock and hide your hand. MEaning you can get a terrorist to use it and hide the identity of the source. A dirty bomb or a suitcase nuke is a likely scenario. But it will only be used in a situation where there is a problem - reaction - solution.

At the end of the day, terrorism always tracks back to AL CIAda.
Now why didn't I take the blue pill.

One of my favorite delusions of the left is that the CIA is at times omnipotent and at times incompetent. They are omnipotent in that they can overthrow the government of Chile, Nicaragua, run Al Qaida, are responsible for the Khmer Rouge, are responsible for importing all the crack into the U.S undetected, etc.

They however are incompetent in that they cannot kill Castro no matter how hard they try. They have been unable to overthrow the North Vietnamese, even with 10 years of concerted effort. They were unable to neutralize the Iraqi resistance.

IMO, Cuba poses no threat to the US nor do they have anything that we want. If there was an oil expedition and crude was discovered, Castro would have to either play ball or be overthrown.

Consider that the US has tried to kill Chavez 3 times and failed. True. But they will come back and get him when they want.

It's a turnkey solution. Either a dictator plays ball, or they die. This allows our corporations to become the real heads of state.

Lastly, please google Operation Northwoods.

Not sure on the spelling of her last name .

Rgardless, news just came out that capitol hill police arrested cindy
because they where afraid she would disrupt the state of the union address.
Seeems like a real odd reason to arrest someone.Just on the speculation that she might do something.

Have you ever been to DC?

Couple of years ago some people were peacefully protesting in a park. The cops surrounded the park on all sides with riot squads and then ordered everyone to disperse. They, of course, couldn't disperse being surrounded on all sides by riot police. They then arrested everyone in the park for failure to disperse. A group of nurses that had been walking through on the way to a medical conference got to spend the day hogtied ankle to wrist in a holding cell. They picked up protesters, bike couriers passing through, everybody. Rule #1, the constitution does not apply within the borders of DC.

.Supposedly this is not allowed.However I still think it's stupid to not let her attend the speech.
