It is interesting that people want to believe the MSM media if their numbers fit their ideology. If the MSM reported there were 300,000 as did the Sunday Wall Street Journal, I am sure you would say that it's a liberal biased newspaper.

This is why people will never get to the truth. They believe information that fits their belief system and discard the rest.

Thanks for caring enough to stand up and speak out, EC.

Didn't anyone learn anything about Vietnam????

Cindy's arrest will galvanize a growing movement.

Actually the protest continued long after I passed out.
Why will you not take the word of the people of the actual protesters over the MSM.

This is quite sad.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '
')The surging crowd, shouting "Bush out now" and "Peace now," marched in front of the White House and then to the Washington Monument in an 11-hour marathon of dissent.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '
')Police Chief Charles Ramsey, noting that organizers had hoped to draw 100,000 people, said, "I think they probably hit that."

Please note the police chief is being sardonic.

I honestly wouldn't lie about this. If only 100,000 people showed up, then only 100,000 people showed up.

But it was more like 300,000. And I bet you didn't know about the 400,000 in NYC.

Exactly. This is why so many people don't believe in Peak Oil no matter how many facts you present them with.

These people were behind the obelisk up to the whitehouse.
They were getting frustrated because it took hours before they could even begin to march. The mall was wall to wall people.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Article', ' ')Sgt. Scott Fear, spokesman for the U.S. Park Police, said they would be charged with demonstrating without a permit, which is a misdemeanor.

I guess now, just like the 2nd Amendment, you have to have a permit to exercise your 1st Amendment Right.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Bill of Rights', 'C')ongress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

I found an aerial veiw of the mall.

The top picute is a cointinuous marathon march in front of the white house. I can vouch for 4 hours, I don't know how much longer it continued.

The middle pix is of the mall.

The last pix is also in the mall.

This doesn't include the people behind the obelish that couldn't fit into the mall.

The frenzy continued up constitution avenue for miles.

Are you shocked that this is the 1st time your media has lied to you?

Jato, are you familiar with free speech zones?

I hate to break you the bad news, but you cannot protest in a public place without a permit.

The reason why thousands of NYC protesters got arrested is because they decided to protest in manhattan by marching with signs on the sidewalk without a permit.

Those dirty bastards were thrown in an asbestos decayed concentration camp without due process, food or water.

You know what the tragedy was this weekend?

That 300,000 people didn't sit down like Cindy Sheehan did.

If 300,000 people just sat down, today would be a different day.

There should be 300 million people in DC demanding life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for all.

Unfortunately, humanity is incapable of such a deed.

Oil's last photo is an excellent pix of what I was trying to convey.

The long line of people are the ones that are marching while there were still plenty left in the mall that had to wait. And even that pix doesn't show how many were on constitution ave.

Is this an EnemyCombatant only thread?

My second though, Cindy BROKE THE LAW and should have been arrested. Face it, 100,000 people or what ever... just acomplished nothing.

Is the law the ultimate definition of what's right? The Constitution is on her side, even if the law isn't. It may be that she had to be arrested given what laws are on the books, but it's the law that's wrong here.

I won't argue with that... just saying her arrest isn't a "nuclear" situation.

Hey there! Pretty clever job! I've not seen anything about it in advance. And VERY impressive to manage to avoid the provocateurs. It is very common in our part of the world that some 100-200 people show up in masks and throw stones and rip a lot of things apart, giving the police an excuse to use violence. Those people seem to mysteriously get away everytime...

Regarding the protest, the facts are on my side. You can believe the MSM heresay if that makes you comfortable. But those interested in the truth would look at the pix and take the word of the protestors.

I don't think we are capable of understaind the ultimate truth. It's very elusive. I believe it is love. Something humanity does not have. Perhaps with a one on one situation, but not the type of love the Jesus tried to teach us.

I will be searching for the truth till the day I die and I doubt I will ever really find it. But the journey is important and it is helping me to spiritually evolve.

One last point and then I will let you go back to your comfort zone.

Protests don't matter, it won't change anything -- at least in this country and time period. But it does matter to the people that attended. Even if every person on this planet does not know about the protest, except for the protesters then that's still OK.

Because those of us that went to DC to say what is going on in the world is not OK is part of the journey. I don't need your approval or for the media to give us recognition.

Each of us that attended took one more step towards the truth. That's what's important. For those of you that don't attend protests because it won't make a difference miss the point.
Now why didn't I take the blue pill.
