And you believed him?
I have to say that going TV-less and radio-less and newspaper-less (I still read NYT once in a month, and Guardian) 8 years ago was the best thing I did for my mental health.
I suggest you do the same

I don't think even Hannity believes himself. He's an entertainer, performing to please his audience.

I agree, as addicting as cable news is, I avoid it all I can. Mostly by not having cable.

And yeah, I hate Hannity. What a douche.

Michael Savage is much more entertaining than Hannity. He's about as conservative as one can get. I'd suggest listening to him; it helps me galvanize my liberal bias.

I guess we should have forseen that environmentalists will be the scapegoats for peak oil, and not the wasteful American way of life. By the time all the enviros have been "eliminated" and people finally wake up to the fact they the environmentalists were right all along about the need to conserve and live sustainably, it will be too late for everyone. It is so infuriating. But it makes me want to be on the right side and fight the good fight all the more and go organic, go vegetarian, go renewable, and stop driving the damn car.

Environmentalists will be the scapegoats for many things ... PO will not be one of them, unless people have forgotten basic math.
But people who pay for cable, usually but not invariably have demostrated that the human species is capable of commiting mental suicide.
I do not know about all the "environs" but r Deep Ecology people might be in some trouble (and rightfully so) . They will probably be shot .... or better yet recycled in a zoo. If you prefer animals more than people , why don't you show it by feeding (you to) them.

Correct about all the aspects of the good fight; if your utility offers the option to sell you electricity in a carbon free form , TAKE IT.

In this case you are a Deep Ecologist ; but we are walking along a thin line here semantically speaking. One could argue that you are not a Deep Ecologist. The following question might help you answer the first question!!!!
In case you had to choose between the life of a bird and the life of a human, who would you choose to live?
And since this is a thought experiment, the question admits only two answers:
1. Birdy
2. Human

I must be getting senile because Specop is beginning to make sense... Is this the end? :P

And about the animal vs. human thing: I'll pick my cats anytime over my neighbors... Besides, neighbors are delicious.

10 great arguments from EnergySpin:
10. If you sports fans love sports more than people, why don't you marry a football?
9. If you hunters love hunting more than people, why don't you shoot yourselves?
8. If you car drivers love cars more than people, why don't you carry people around on your back?
7. If you human rights people love political freedoms more than people, why don't you sit in a gulag instead of political prisoners?
6. If you abolitionists love Africans so much, why don't you work on the plantation for them?
5. If you minutemen hate the British so much, why don't you move someplace where they don't have British?
4. If you Jews hate the holocaust so much, why don't you find a better way to make lampshades?
3. If you civil rights activists hate Jim Crow so much, why do you live in the south?
2. If you Christians hate being thrown to the lions, why don't you just worship zeus?
1. Rosa Parks, if you hate riding in the back of the bus so much, why don't you walk?

You are cheating ... a thought experiment does not involve questions like this. For example I would pick my cat over my ex- gf
but in its pure form the question should not be answered by appealing to special cases.
For me it is easy ... i would pick the human.
I know more than 1 persons who would answer otherwise. Yet, they do not feed (themselves to) stray cats/dogs/aligators/cobras/rattle snakes out there

Spin, miost people don't even know basic math. They learned enough in school to barely get by and then forgot it all. Take away their calculators and their cash registers and they can barely make change!

This is, among other facts about human nature, what makes me a level 5 doomer. Keep in mind that if you think you're of average intelligence, then by definition half the people are dumber than you.

Regarding 10. Many women ask the same question
but the rest of the questions unfortunately should be framed in different terms ...

Deep Ecologist have said they'd rather feed /save animals than humans if given the choice .

Are you sure we are talking about the same thing i.e. Deep Ecology = Eco-fascism?
