List: A great innovation: Bug Out Underpants

Unread postby doufus » Sun 18 Sep 2005, 06:30:52

OK, people have discussed their emergency bug out bags- you know, the kit of stuff you sling over your shoulder then race for the wilderness as the nukes are incoming or power failures at pizza hut spark riots.
Others have proposed a bug out trailer full of goodies. I'm thinking of bug out underpants to get me through. Don't larf. These have many advantages such as:

1. You're never without them. Society can collapse in a heartbeat and
its easy to be separated from your survival gear. If it's in your jocks,
man you're ALWAYS prepared.

2. No-one will ever know you're packing the latest in survival gear
next to your gonads whereas a camouflaged backpack kinda sucks in corporate meetings and becomes a target of envy and theft.

3. It's light and when u gotta make like a cheetah, you can. Also
as you cruise past the other bug out guys hauling arse and heavy
bags, no-one will know that you're hauling arse too. From that
perspective, survival underpants are super discreet and covert.

So what goes in the underpants? Only the essentials:

1. portable desalinator.
2. water purifying tabs.
3. beef jerky
4. 9mm glock
5 6 spare mags
6. fish hooks and line (careful!)
7. poncho
8. signal mirror
9. space blanket
10. lightweight plough
11. corn seeds.
12. roll of toilet paper
13. 1 gallon water
14. 2 man tent
15. binoculars.

OK. sounds bulky but with appropriate rap/gangster clothes
there's room to spare.

These things are gonna walk out the store man.

You missed the inflatable composting toilet, made out of recycled material.
And one spare munition cartridge should be hidden there as well - just in case.
And where is the infrared googles? one needs to spot the men in black , jumping out of black choppers as they prepare to embark on a dril of "guns, germs, and steel".
Oh and just in case one does get hit by nukes, iodine tablets are essential.
Otherwise sounds like a pretty good "preparing for the future" gear. :-D

The Japanese are working on a "invisible" cloak, which could be the bases of your whole outfit. :-D

They have already built that :-D

No peak oiler should be without one!
I'm working on a version that combines the invisivle cloak with a biosafety level 4 suit, just in case the Men In Black deploy germs.
But no needs to worry about the aesthetics of it; we have contacted French Fashion Designers
http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/full/299/5608/813
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '
')For the latest in biosafety gear, scientists are turning to that epicenter of fashion, France. A new suit produced there is lighter, quieter, and more comfortable, many say--it's even made to measure. Some expect that the new suit may take the labs by storm. "Let's put it this way," says Bryan Eaton, a senior researcher at the Australian Animal Health Laboratory in Geelong, who has tested it. "We have only one French suit, and my technician has put his name on it."

With a couple of AK-47s (to deal with guns) and an RPG (to deal with steel), doufous underpant scheme, and an invisible and trendy biosafety level suit (to battle germs), survival in a post peak oil world has never been easier :-D

Wow energyspin, that japanese invisible cloak thing was cool. I could
hardly see any of those japanese guys- especially the one holding up an
image of his brain! Real ninja stuff.

That's probably how predator in the movies goes invisible- he takes
a photo of himself from exactly your perspective and projects it
onto himself- even as he moves. Wow, freaky.

But you know the thing i forgot to mention was not just the survival
value of bug out underpants, but the everyday psychological edge
it gives the corporate guy. When a deal is tight, when it's all on the
line and there's a lot of mind games, the guy with the best underpants
wins hands down (so to speak). He knows if society collapses after
lunch, the other guys in the boardroom are toast- even of they do
own private helicopters and guarded mansions on a patch of land
as large as brazil.

Nah, if your underdaks are locked and loaded, the other negotiators
in a deal are goin down big time.

Remember, keep your friends close and your underpants even
closer.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('shakespear1', 'C')an the French also consider the needs of Sexin their redesign of those suits? :-D :-D :-D :-D

Well they are "see-through" aren't they?
The rest is left to the user .....
Any decent nature loving survivalist peak-oiler will enter his or her suite naked, allowing other Darwinist/peak oilers to gauge the quality (and quantity
 ) of another peak oiler's anatomy.
And Victoria's Secret is considering releasing a new series just for this suite.
This is a prime example of industrial symbiosis!.
Promoting business, personal survival, and controlled reproduction in an oil-scarce world.

Both ... excited about the prospect of seeing high quality protein biomass fed with oil-rich products that can be cooked on my solar over

When I saw the title "Bug Out Underpants," I thought you meant underpants that exclude or repel chiggers, ticks, fleas, etc.! A not inconsiderable consideration for POers contemplating the end.
