Jaws asserted-

"The North American tribes were as ruthless and bloodthirsty as anyone who wouldn't aknowledge free trade and private property. They killed other tribes just as indiscriminately as the barbarians of Europe killed each other before Roman law, or the barbarians of Africa still do to this day. The Aztec empire was in fact practically fuelled by human sacrifices of slaves captured from weaker tribes. Their whole economy ran on human sacrifices if you can conceive this."

I note your attempt to deflect my intervention by suggesting that it accused you of "supporting or encouraging genocide." It did not.
You are not "forced to take inflammatory positions" by anything other than the weakness of your arguments.

As you seem to need to hear it again:

Inflammatory statements are entirely unacceptable on this site. Kindly read the CoC, and do not waste Moderators' time.

Nero-

I don't know whether the historians you refer to are the same ones as have for so long
glossed over the genocide on which America was founded, but this is a global site,
and Jaws version of history is very far from what is commonly understood by historians around the world.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('jaws', 'I')'m just pointing out the basic fact that capitalism made the Americans more powerful. And it's not a racial thing either.

Then I'll point out that it wasn't capitalism that gave the boot to the Americans in Vietnam, and that it wasn't capitalism that gave the boot to the white army in Russia.

And the Americans were not more powerful because of capitalism, but because they had technology developed in Europe.

Obviously your sad devotion to your money-god prevent you of any critical analysis.
Freedom is up to the length of the chain.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('jaws', 'T')he North American tribes were as ruthless and bloodthirsty as anyone who wouldn't aknowledge free trade and private property.

Let's make this point clear: Do you think that capitalists are nice people and non-capitalists are ruthless and bloodthirsty? I can put a few examples of the opposite.

Counterexample A: England in the 19th century generated some of the most ruthless people ever. In the name of free trade.

Counterexample B: Tibet, who is a theocracy and favours government intervention in lots of things, is also known for its compassionate attitude.

Many Pacific islands visited by Captain James Cook had no concept of private property, which he found rather irritating when important astronomical instruments went missing.

They weren't bloody thirsty or capitalists.

With globalisation and multiculturalism, we could actually look at other societies and see how they worked rather than assume that property rights are the only solution. Then retrofit the idea to say why all other societies are bad.
