Everlife flashlight

Does anyone have experience with this product? A flashlight that never runs out of batteries...seems pretty handy. On the other hand, I've learned that just about anything you see on an infomercial on TV doesn't work as advertised. I've tried to find independent reviews of it without much success. Anyone know if these things are reliable as the comercial makes them out to be?

Can't say how well they work but there are other options here. http://www.ccrane.com/

I'm slowly building a bug out bag and intend to get a crank light and radio. I use an LED headlamp (Petze brand) at work and I'm very satisfied with battery longevety but the light emitted could be brighter. I have also used larger LED flashlights designed for underground mining that are far brighter than a conventional flashlight.

I just bought a few of these at Costco last weekend. The ones I bought weren't this brand but looked just like it. Costco was selling them 2 for $20. The crank mechanism seems very sturdy and they are very bright with a light pattern that is a lot wider than most LED lights. I am quite pleased with them.

Well, I guess I'll take a chance with the ones from the comercial. I'll let everyone know how they turn out.

Have you checked out "Solar powered flashlights"?
Makes a bit of sense actually, they recharge during the daytime.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('loopy', 'D')on't waste your money. It's a cheap knockoff of the NightStar flashlight, a much better product. I own one myself, I highly recommend. Very solid construction.

I wish I could obtain one - not possible to do so tho, I live in a remote Poland.

A friend of mine gave me a shake flashlight a couple of years ago, don't know what brand it is, but it works OK. If gives a decent amount of light but you got to keep shaking it quite a bit. I like it in the car, since battery flashlighs in the winter months, the batteries keep going dead.

I also have a Grundig wind-up AM/FM/SW radio with a built in light and am quite impressed with it. A few minutes of cranking and I can listen to if for over 1/2 an hour. I should try and see how long the light will work with a few minutes of cranking.

The radio has a very good reception also.

Well I have one of those and I wouldn't recomend it. The light wasn't powerful enough so I found myself shaking it all the time just to get it a little brighter, and well... the shaking motion was just a little bit too much like... umm... you know.

I like the crank ones better, brighter, smaller, and the recharging motion isn't a social embarassment.

Yeah, wouldn't want people to think you're a drunk.

Anyway, I find cranking more ergonomic. Shaking back and forth puts more of a strain on your muscles and joints.

This has been mentioned before. If you wanna look at stuff which shakes for 60 seconds to give 60 minutes of light, the Shakelight is it.

Shipped 4 from Canada just 1 month plus ago, and drain tests works nearly the same. Made in China though (I'd be surprised if any is not made in China), each lastest from 45 to 60 minutes (QA/QC issues?), timed at 60 secnods worth of shake. Pretty easy to test when you have kids who wanna play with this in the dark and in the shower (the switch is magnetic and contactless : the whole thing is waterproof)

Not exactly. Try looking on Polish internet auctions. I've already seen the solar-powered flashlight there today. I saw some in the past too.
