To Buy, or not to buy?

Unread postby k_semler » Thu 08 Sep 2005, 00:59:53

I just got a Smokey Mountian Knife Works magazine in the mail today, and I notice that on page 49 they have a butterfly knife for sale for just under $7.00. Yes, I realize that a $7.00 knife probably isn't worth 2 shits, but I have wanted a butterfly knife because they are so easy to open since I was 13. Should I buy this knife? I really don't know what I would use it for, as I already have 4 knifes anyway. It comes with a horizontal belt sheath. Do you think this knife would actually be usable, or just a waste of money?

You could always barter it to some gang banger.

Maybe you could use it as a boomerang to throw at pigeons.

They're illegal in a lot of places, and cheap butterfly knives have been on the market for decades now. It will be a good one to practive the opening/closing routine with then you can get a good one. It's an inherently weak type of knife, but well made ones (that cost a lot naturally) are pretty strong. Get it and have fun, why not? Just make sure you observe your local laws.

I just have no idea what I would use it for. That's the only reason why I am hesitant purchasing one.

Spec loves balisongs.
He carried one for close to 10 years. He wants to get a Cold Steel one, but 300 or so bucks for a balisong is a bit pricey..... 8O

Spec thinks you should get it. Balisongs are cool. 8)

How is Case? Also, will they ship to jurisdictions that have banned gravity knifes?

Case? The knive maker? No clue. Spec has been wondering that too.
