Normallyn I discount economists where PO is concerned but do you guys think? The conclusion sems to be that the price spikes are man made or surmountable in the longer term.

Just another economist who thinks in terms of infinite resources that vary in price according to fluctuations in the market.

Nothing new here, nothing that provides substantive evidence or analysis on the subject of peak oil.

In other words, he suggests we just relax and keep jogging with the lemmings....

There is no economic principal I am aware of that deals with infinite
resources. Economics deals with finite resources; finiteness is the
assumption upon the field is based on.

I believe the word they use is scarce, not finite, furthermore, A lot of economists do seem to believe in the principle that there are infinite substitutes for scarce resources.

I've followed this web site for a few years. I don't think PO has ever been mentioned. It's a good source of information on the history of oil production and prices.

History lessons are fine, but it appears to me to be just another typical flat earth economic thesis that says we should all relax and let the all-knowing market handle everything.
