LOL I heard about this on the radio this morning, I was going to post it up but you beat me to it.

I think prisoners on small treadmills could be helpful post peak, do you not think?

There are health clubs that sort of do this already. You pay for the membership and they give you a swipe card which you swipe on any of the stationary bicycles they have. If you work out enough they generate power to sell into the grid. If you do enough you are not charged membership fees next month. If you make enogh power they start paying you to work out.

Pretty slick.

Whiteknight, that's an amazing report - but it's a great idea. Who knows, if people got paid to get fit, we might see some real improvements in the exercise habits people have.
