Re: Can I make alcohol in a post carbon world?

This has caused me to think of something I hadn't before..yeast. Alcohol is going to end up being a commodity just as cigarettes were after WWII; it just stands to reason.

Now this is something I can definitely apply myself to. And since I drink beers and occassionally wines myself, of course that would be where my interest lies...plus, I know a few people that when they were in the Navy, would regale me of tales of how they would make barely potable concoctions from raisins or prunes and other stuff such as rubbing alcohol. :P

I am going to have to seriously give attention to cider production..apple trees will grow okay where I'm at..and trees will be easier to guard against intruders than wheat fields..not to mention they are less labor instensive..

guess it might be time for me to start playin 'johnny appleseed'.. 8)
