I think it's worthwhile for the board as a whole and for each member to try and get facts as close to right as possible. Opinions are one thing. Everyone's got theirs, and who knows which is right. Me, personally, am a doomer (but not too hardcore
). Maybe I'm way off the mark. Maybe I'm dead on. Maybe I don't know what the hell I'm talking about. Either way, it's my opinion.
However, I think we do the board as a whole a great disservice if we post information as fact that is either rumors, innuendo, or just plain wrong. Everyone gets small details wrong once in a while, but if we go posting things that are just blatantly false, people who visit here (and there are non-member visitors, probably more and more these days) are going to think we're just a bunch of lunatics and chicken-littles. Meaning that any hope of breaking through to people, already just about impossible, is going to become pipe dreams. They'll simply think we're just another cult ala Hale Bop's Heaven's Gate.
So I hope I didn't offend anyone, and I'm no moderator, but I just find it disturbing to open up a post with a disturbing title to find that it is just plain wrong information being passed along.
