Absolute Truth

Unread postby PenultimateManStanding » Thu 11 Aug 2005, 21:52:25

I had a friend who said that absolute truth was a scary concept. He used to call his kids 'little shits'. They grew up with emotional problems. I knew they would. I could feel it at the time. Love is a mammalian truth and it must be accepted. PO is a truth and it must be accepted.

My definition of various truths:

Absolute truth: there is only one thing going on, and we can define it as truth.

Relative truth: we will never know whats going on here so our statements can only be partially true at all times.

Feel free to disect... I love this discussion.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('stupid_monkeys', 'I') love this discussion.
We need more brave souls to weigh in. Absolute Truth, anyone? Is this only the territory of the religious? I don't believe the Religions but I feel that I know what they're after and how they came about. Its there alright.

Imho, organized religion is a construct of the mind that basically asks three questions: How did we get here, why are we here, and how should we act while we are here?

Those are great questions, and the answers are relatively true, but now the purpose of organized religion is to pass on fodder for political argument and holy war.

In a word, it's [smilie=bs.gif]

Maybe these guys put it all forth:

Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
Cars and girls are easy come by in this day and age,
Laughing, joking, drinking, smoking,
Till I've spent my wage.
When I was young people spoke of immorality,
All the things they said were wrong,
Are what I want to be.

(Hey)
Over under sideways down,
(Hey)
Backwards forwards square and round.
(Hey)
Over under sideways down,
(Hey)
Backwards forwards square and round.
When will it end, when will it end,
When will it end, when will it end.

Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
I find comment 'bout my looks irrelativity,
Think I'll go and have some fun,
'Cos it's all for free.
I'm not searching for a reason to enjoy myself,
Seems it's better done,
Than argued with somebody else.

Absolute truth is what is.
Relative truth is what we perceive to be.

In human 3D/4D form, we are restricted essentially to relative truth. The only piece of absolute truth that we are intrinsically privileged to is our self-awareness; our knowledge of the fact that we exist. Even if everything else around us goes into turmoil, we still know that we exist. That is our gateway into absolute truth; everything else depends on your manifested point of view, both physically and mentally.

Btw, my uncle used to call me a little shit. He's an imbecile. But do I have emotional problems? No. Everyone is exposed to nature and nurture, and we all come out of the tornado weak and wrinkled. It's a rough ride. Blame the guy if you want, but I wouldn't.There are too many other factors.

Other than that, I agree with your statements above.

I don't know SM, it taxes me to what I can stand and then I seek refuge in music.
