What If? - PO Episode of The Simpsons

Unread postby emersonbiggins » Wed 10 Aug 2005, 13:25:15

This is probably lame-ass, but this thread is about a 'theoretical' episode about PO on The Simpsons. How would it go?

I've started with the first scene of the episode.
Feel free to add a scene and see what kind of show we end up with.

Like I said, this is probably lame-ass, but what the hell...

:00 - Homer eating breakfast. He gets in his car but can't get out of the driveway. There is a LOOOONNNNNGGGG line of traffic trying to fill 'er up at the Kwik-E-Mart...

:01 - ???
:02 - ???

et. al.

How about Homer see's Kent Brockman sounding off about how liberals are to blame and he starts making even more wild accusasions which would be kind of funny like when he lampoons the UN. Lisa disagrees and goes on the internet to find peakoil.com!

The whitehouse then announces only essential food items will be delivered - a criteria that doesn't included beer!
Homer goes on some crazed mission to find alternative energy sources

That is the only thing you can come up with? That scene would last 20 second tops. You need content to fill the other 21 minutes.

You need to brainstorm this first. Throw out all the ideas you can up with on the table. And then put them in order to make a show and fill in the gaps as needed.

Here are some ideas for a potential plot line.

- News reports of Springfield oil fields going dry
- Homer trying to invent a beer powered car. (mentioned in other simpsons cannon as the Duff car)
- Mr Burns taking over the town during the Springfield energy crisis
- Lisa telling everyone how to grow gardens
- Professor Fink coming up with a techno fix
- Ned Flanders a known survivialist in simpsons cannon leading a new kinder gentler Amish-style Springfield
- Texas Tycoon drilling in Sringfield wildlife preserve
- Make it a Halloween episode (So as to have a doomer distruction of Springfield ending)

- Snake siphons gas off of other peoples' tanks at stoplights while Jasper distracts them with a window-washing charade.

- Moe starts rationing beer since his distributor isn't showing up.

- Barney freaks out and starts hoarding.

- Grandpa Simpson regales us of amusing anecdotes of the time where they operated machinery off of a thimble full of corn oil and it got 7 rods to the hog's head.

-bart teachs the community the art of skateboarding as a means of transportation
-(like said before, Burns takes over the springfeild) because he is now in control of the largest power source (the power plant)
-Mr Burns planning a terrorist attack to launch a war against neighbors
-Homer gets drafted for war but gets to drunk and instead invents a new type of fuel (make out of spent beer cans)
-Homer then finds out that it has a negitive EROEI and they are still back in the same problem
