Interesting article on BBC website this morning :

BBC Article

On it they are currently running a poll on whether people are going to cut their use of oil/petrol/plastics in the face of high oil prices. The results thus far :

2414 votes cast:

- 50% Definitely - even if just to save cash

- 25.39% Probably not - what's the point

- 24.61% No way - life's hard enough as it is

The 25.39% folks, I hope you suffer.

The 24.61% folks, you haven't seen anything yet.

This is what we are dealing with people, primordial soup.

Disagree

50% of the population are not going to want to change their habits.

I assure you they will... all of them.

One way or another.
The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

The whole point of having resources allocated by the market is to force all those who can afford a product to demand less of it. If people say that they wont or can't change then it just means the price is too low.

The vast majority will change whether they like it or not.
