What's the definition of a techno-fix?

Discussions of conventional and alternative energy production technologies.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('EnergySpin', ' ') However before we start the conversation about techno-fixes is everyone here in agreement that technofixes (generally) correspond to "hard" solutions in "wicked" problems?

Yes, this is along the lines of my thinking.
A Saudi saying, "My father rode a camel. I drive a car. My son flies a jet-plane. His son will ride a camel."

Can we talk about a specific example?

Question: Is nuclear power a techno fix? And if so, what does that mean?

To answer the specific question about nuclear (note that my signature was changed just for this thread). It depends (left blank for now ...)
gg3 gave an excellent definition of "techno-fix". Ihave to agree with his position-statement which fits nicely with my professional experience, even though we use the term "video-game medicine" instead of "techno-fix".
A book by the Schumacher society (2nd link under definition) gave a 2-D classification of problems/solutions. Taking into account what gg3 said a "techno-fix" is a "hard" solution to a "wicked" problem. It is not the level of technology per se, but the inappropriate use of technology to solve problems which are either unsolvable OR are solved more efficiently with less intense technology. Refer to my hospital/.angina example for details.
Nuclear to follow

I don't think so. Nuclear won't/can't (take your pick) scale to replace fossil fuels. When looked at from a realistic point of view, it is not a fix all.

However, to blindly say the nuclear power will replace fossil fuels could be labeled as a techno fix.
