Google "Oil News"

You know how it's fun to go on this or that forum and vent or rant, or just clown around?

Sure you do...

Just a reminder that when you post here, all kinds of folks see what you write; unlike that Pokémon or car forum you visit.

People, allot of new visitors here, don't even know what a forum is...

So please remember, that you are all ambassadors in a way, introducing hydrocarbon depletion around the world... & you might be surprised who the audience includes.
The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

Thanks for the reminder to keep the site devoted to intelligent (mostly ;) ) and rational debate focused on creating a community of citizens concerned with one of the underlying fundamentals of today's modern industrial world: access to and exploitation of petroleum reserves.

Most here intuitively knew or believed, or at least came to believe, that in some way or another that it was only a matter of time before that fundamental assumption of ever expanding natural resources would inevitably have to end....and soon more people would take notice as it the contradictions became increasingly difficult to hide... People are noticing the ever-increasing price of energy, whether it's oil, natural gas, gasoline, or whatever, and the 'usual expanations' seem to have lost their illusory appeal - and important questions will be raised as people will seek alternative answers...

I also read between your lines, Aaron, that in addition to a greatly increased site traffic, if we knew just where certain visitors to the site were coming from, we'd be surprised. The ears of power, the famous and not so famous, have leaned over to listen, isn't that right Aaron?

Remember peak oilites being blamed for the rise in prices?
that was us that was!
the guys on the W street are taking a shifty at this site and the world is changing becuse of the info they are reading!
Now would that be called a self fulfilling prophecy?

Because ONLY this site has the info AND the intelligent discussion, debate and facts. So we may well be actually affecting oil prices more than OBL!!

Anway the hits should tell all.
How many hits are the forums getting Aaron and what's the monthly unique visitor figures, if you would be so kind

Well I must say after coming here that I have seen more sound research and observations than you hear from wall street and a sundry oil analysts.

That was supposed to be a compliment

Ho ho, you jest, but I think there is some truth there... I absolutely wouldn't doubt it for a moment China has intelligence agents monitoring this site for a bead on production issues...[The CIA as well for that matter, it is basically an open secret, and has been for years that production figures are quite clearly national security issues]

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'R')emember peak oilites being blamed for the rise in prices?

While Wall Street analysts. large institutional investors, and mom and pop type folks are likely another further type of the visitors here, I doubt that this site has swayed the market...It's a huge market and this has been a relatively fringe type forum until now (still is, but broader awareness is increasing)

My reading on why Street players may be here would be that most of the large brokerage type places have been, for the last five years WRONG about where prices would be headed. Basically, I think they're tired of losing money, and are looking at reasons why they were wrong....It's quite simple really, I think.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'W')ell I must say after coming here that I have seen more sound research and observations than you hear from wall street and a sundry oil analysts.

Exactly. And far less biased in my opinion.

oh man last time I was told that it did not work out too well.

So we gave up trying to be nice to the natives and:

Had Kukri fights on the balcony (using the spine)

Shot up their Parsona's w/ BB's(not people, rolling shades, a Sicilian thing)

Bought a Monster Great Dane and terrified the nieghborhood. ( this dog loveed to terrify horses, and kill the cats that strayed in our yard )

SORRY, but that line brought back some tender memories, THANKS!

Hi,

The number of pages served is doubling every three to four months. It looks like alot of the increases happen whenever crude oil is setting a new record, which has been nearly continuous lately.

By the end of the year you could be getting 10 million page requests a month. Would the site be able to handle that volume? It may end up overwhelmed.

If that happens though you will have one of the most heavily trafficed sites on the net. I haven't kept up on the stats but I heard that last year kazaa got 20 million downloads and was considered the number one for site traffic on the Web.

How does that work. Did this site get 3 and half million unique hits over the month of july or is that just the number of hits total (I view this page like 10 times a day if I'm home all day).
At what point would your service provider tell you to couph up more money?

Nice serve!

Since this is a user supported site, contributions are appreciated!
(aaron must be off, so I decided to chime in)
Stop filling dumpsters, as much as you possibly can, and everything will get better.

Just think it through.
It's not hard to do.
