Nearly One-Third Of EV Charging Attempts Fail, Report Finds
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'A') newly released report by ChargerHelp! shows that while 64% of Americans now live within two miles of an electric vehicle charging station, nearly one-third of charging attempts fail. Despite charging infrastructure showing 98.7% to 99% uptime rates, only 71% of charging attempts actually succeed, according to the 2025 EV Charging Reliability Report.
https://www.freightwaves.com/news/nearl ... port-finds

Well someone is telling Lies, and since it's in the interest (financial interest) of the charging companies it to report healthy operations, it's them doing the Lying.

So you bought a Battcar in 2022 at the height of Biden's sales pitch.

Image

Then you saw Tesla and all the others begin slashing prices, making yours worth less and less by the month, even though you were locked into a loan at the high price.

Image

Then the national infrastructure failed to be delivered, so the trip to see the family upstate became a nightmare with F-all chargers and half of them broken anyway

Image

Now you're wondering if you didn't make one big bad decision that is going to haunt you for the next 5 years.

Nice manBun soyboi. Now start walking

I've got it covered! I charge at home.

That right pops, and you just stick near home and you'll be alright.

I wish 90% of people had gone Battcar, I'd have the mountain roads all to myself then.

As I pointed out elsewhere, if you are sitting back relying on FSD to do all the driving for you, your reflexes are not up to speed, your brain is not up to speed with the simple inputs to the cars controls that could save you from a nasty accident.

NHTSA Probing Tesla Full Self-Driving After Reports Of Red-Light Runs, Collisions
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'R')eports include Teslas running red lights and making lane changes against oncoming traffic. The agency is reviewing 58 cases, including 14 crashes and 23 injuries. Six involved vehicles driving through red lights and colliding at intersections; four crashes caused injuries.

A driver in Houston told NHTSA that FSD “is not recognizing traffic signals. This results in the vehicle proceeding through red lights, and stopping at green lights.” The complaint added: “Tesla doesn’t want to fix it, or even acknowledge the problem, even though they’ve done a test drive with me and seen the issue with their own eyes.”
https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/nhtsa ... collisions

"Well that happens all the time when people are driving, so what?"

"So What" is that it's not Supposed to happen when the Big Brain is on the job. That was one of the selling points back in the day remember? You do remember don't you? "AI driven cars will remove the human factor and make driving soooo much safer." Now tell me that these systems are just starting out and in the years to come... No! These systems have been in development for a decade, in the world of computer tech that's a lifetime.

True smart phones came on the scene with the iphone in 2007, June 29 2007. By 2017 they had basically reached their zenith and nothing has changed since then aside from the size (bigger screens) and of course more cameras stuffed into them because all the narcissists demand that. Unless of course you want to include the bundled AI packages as progress, which I don't. That's not an evolution in smart phones, that's evolution in software. And battery life, probably one of the most important aspects as far as users go? Down the Fucking Toilet. My 2002 era Nokia 6650 offered standby times measured in Weeks and talk time in days.
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'N')okia introduced many notable phones in the 2002 era, including the groundbreaking Nokia 7650 (the first with a built-in camera and a 3G precursor), the color screen-focused Nokia 3510i, the professional-oriented Nokia 6100, and the early 3G phone Nokia 6650

Corporations giving the market what they want? No. Maximizing profits is the order of the day. Mobile phones that are used for shopping $$$, for online movie watching $$$ for sound streaming $$$. It's over for the mobile phone, the last decent ones had removable batteries so you didn't need an expensive shop experience or an upgrade. But you need an upgrade to go to 4G~ 5G. Not that you actually need that but that's all they offer, because those frequencies allow a lot more data to be transferred, bigger movies, more $$$ in sales and data costs. If you think your important because you have the latest phone with 6 cameras in the back then you're just a native in the bush adorning yourself with cheap glass beads and bottle caps and thinking that makes you important

OMG I was hoping you would post this. This is the best example of FUD I have EVER seen. THANK YOU! I will explain why it's FUD but first I need to throw in a Caveat, I'm happy NHTSA is doing this investigation, it's their job and I understand they are good at it. One of the few government agencies that serves a good purpose.

OK, here are the FUD parts. This is obviously a Hit piece on Tesla intended to scare people into selling Tesla stock, and drive the price down. This gives the TRADFI folks, and me, a buying opportunity.

So the first clue is: Where's The F#CKING Denominator???? Is it a study over the last ten years or just the last year (It's probably 10 years)? How many versions of FSD are included in the study, Lots? Is Tesla Cooperating with the investigation (YES)? Did the Investigation start because of the complaints or was the investigation already scheduled (Causation vs Correlation)? Here are some more points we don't know based on the FUD piece:

Were the complaints made against previous FSD versions that are now fixed?

Did the complaints include camera verifications from the vehicle or was it just witness testimony?

If you don't get feedback, does not mean they are ignoring the problem.

Looking forward to the FULL report.

Ahhh, and all along I thought it was because the cars were screwing up
Hint, Tesla doesn't need outside interference to knock its share price down. With sales down worldwide and no about face in sight for the Battcar it's clear proof that Tesla is simply caught up in the IT bubble. When it all blows up millions of patriotic Americans are going to be eating out of trash cans. Just like the millions that already are.

As I was watching my Seahawks kick the Jaguars A$$ this morning, the commercials caught my attention. Quite a few of them were for Electric Vehicles, none from Tesla they sell as many as they make, worldwide. So not much need for TESLA to buy advertising right now.

I don't watch a lot of MSM TV, so the commercials were new for me. The FORD commercial was particularly interesting, it was pushing Hands Free Driving on Highways. Starts with two women in the front seat talking while driving down the freeway. The passenger was using her hands a lot during the conversation and it was obvious the driver wanted to use her hands too. So the driver pushed the "HANDS FREE" button on her screen, turned towards the passenger, and resumed the conversation. A lot of shots showed her not paying attention to the road while NOT touching the steering wheel. The announcer did say it was for use on highways, but did not warn it was NOT for use off the highway. Left me wondering if Ford neglected to run this commercial through their legal department.

Now TESLA has had an operational version of this technology for years (It will probably be removed soon during version 14), but you were required to touch the steering wheel or be watching the road. Basically, cruise control with rudimentary collision avoidance.

Jeep touted their electric jeep with an impressive 700 Horse Power motors. I'm going to have to find a You Tube runoff between it and the Cybertruck.

Most of the other manufacturers showed bad inattentive HUMAN drivers being saved by their collision avoidance system's in their electric vehicles. I did see you can buy electric cars through Costco with a healthy rebate.

My Hypothesis is, the other vehicle manufactures are dumping their EV's because they can't make them profitable. But that will change soon.

PEACE is coming

World Slowly Waking Up To Menace of Lithium Battery Fires, Experts Say

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'O')n Jan. 28, 2025, an Air Busan plane was destroyed by fire on the runway in Busan, South Korea. Preliminary findings indicated that a power bank stored in an overhead cabin likely went up in flames shortly before take-off. All 170 passengers and six crew members were evacuated, with three seriously injured and 24 having sustained minor injuries.

Image

Thank God it was "before" takeoff.
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'F')ires involving lithium batteries - which are rechargeable - are notoriously difficult to extinguish using conventional firefighting methods. Meanwhile, global demand for lithium-ion batteries is expected to increase significantly between 2025 and 2030. Matt Humby, a senior technical consultant at fire extinguisher manufacturer Firechief Global, told The Epoch Times he does not think governments or international regulatory bodies had woken up to the danger lithium batteries represented.

“While awareness is growing, regulatory action still lags behind the pace of incidents we’ve had with lithium-ion battery fires,” Humby said. “Many trade bodies ... are reactive rather than proactive, and there’s still a lack of global consistency in standards and enforcement.” However, Grant Gibbs, business development manager of energy storage at safety testers TÜV SÜD, said the United Nations and international standardization bodies, governments, and regulatory bodies around the world were “well aware of the perceived risks” associated with lithium batteries.

He said bodies such as the International Electrotechnical Commission and the International Organization for Standardization are revising and expanding requirements for the testing, transport, and end-of-life management of lithium batteries, with the aim of ensuring “global alignment on safety and sustainability.” On Sept. 24, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued new guidance: “Devices containing lithium metal batteries or lithium-ion batteries, including—but not limited to—smartphones, tablets, cameras, and laptops, should be kept in accessible carry-on baggage.”

Like I've said a 100 times, many technologies don't scale up, or down for that matter. How many Diesel outboards are there? Diesel lawn mowers or small lawn tractors? Use of Lipo in remote control cars and phones, even laptops is about the practical limit as far as safety goes. Cars definitely not! Nor of course buses. There have been some horrendous BattBus fires. Well with the EVidiots switching back to OPEs it's not as big an issue as it once was.

Bus fires are not uncommon but with a BattBus you have only seconds to evacuate before it becomes a blast furnace. If I ever had to ride one I'd stand right by the door!

GM Takes $1.6 Billion Hit As It Scales Back EV Operations
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'G')eneral Motors said on Oct. 14 that it will bear a $1.6 billion loss to scale back its electric vehicle (EV) operations, citing weaker expected demand ...The decision was made after the expiration of the $7,500 federal EV tax credit on Sept. 30

Thing is, sales have been in the toilet for a year and more. The tax credit revoke was just icing on the collapse. All but two US manufacturers are gone now, Massive losses on the stock market, massive waste of capital, all so a few million cornucopians could have their Rodgers stroked for a while. Of course now they're off masturbating over AI generated movies of robots making sandwiches and raising their kids. I'll tell you what will happen there, because it's even more impractical than the Battcar fiasco.

Musk will postpone his release for another year or 3, as he always does, like he did with the PsychoTruck. And somewhere along the way we'll get the Big One, the Big Crash that will push Tesla and all the other overvalued stocks down into the mud. Then it will be announced that the robot transition is off the table because of lack of funding.

Costco, the poor people's store. They built 3 up in Brisbane, all in areas full of povo types.

Poor reviews to say the least. Aldi is the same, I avoid all such stores as they are just full of crap.

Tesla Drops After Q3 Profit Slides, Earnings Miss
Watch sales tank even further now the Biden Bubble incentives are gone. That was the last big pump for these Segways.
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '.').. but while revenue was good, profitability was not: operating income decreased 40% YoY to $1.6B despite a 7% jump in deliveries and the highest auto revenue in nearly two years - resulting in only 5.8% operating margin. Tesla took a notable hit here to the bottom line, and talked about a laundry list including tariffs, new models, lower regulatory credits and increased R&D costs:

But that's alright, it's all about Robots now isn't it

Used EVs Are Ruining Tesla
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'F')or Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA) and other popular electric vehicle (EV) makers, the primary competition is not with one another. It is the used versions of their own cars. One analysis showed that a Ford Mustang Mach-E, which sold for $55,000 new, sold for only $33,000 when it reached its first birthday. It had less than 10,000 miles on its odometer and not a single scratch. Some people who track the car industry say it is awash in used Teslas, which causes the company the same problem.

...The effects of the cannibalization have not hurt Tesla’s stock price. While it did drop when Musk broke off relations with President Trump in March, the share price is up almost 70% over the past year, while the S&P 500 is only 15% higher.

Musk has managed to offset lackluster sales by promoting the idea that Tesla is more than just a car company. It has evolved into a robotics, AI, and fully self-driving car business. As long as the market is willing to accept that, the used car challenge will not matter much.
https://247wallst.com/investing/2025/09 ... ing-tesla/

A confidence game, that's all it is now, all it's ever been really. One big confidence game.

untry,

Weird, none of the chargers you put up in the earlier posts were TESLA chargers.

Just installed the FSD 14.1.3 (supervised) and took it for a short midnight drive. IT'S AMAZING. :-D :-D

Drove FSD out of my 600ft driveway with NO problems,(ROW-B has never been able to do it), continued about 8 miles and had it park in the parking lot of IGA. Most of the trip was in Standard Mode, but I did put it in Sloth mode when it went through Home which has three different speed limits. It never went over the speed limit, just as advertised.

Returning to our place was uneventful except for the slowdown when two racoons crossed the road, and the rabbit in the driveway.

I gotta say, it's an order of magnitude smarter/better than Version 13. I felt VERY safe in this version, it's like ROW-B is sentient. Can't wait to do some more tests tomorrow.

Oh, you can put different "skins" on your vehicle, next drive I'm putting the TRON motorcycle skin on. That should freak my wife out. LOL

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('careinke', 'E')lon time is getting shorter. FSD 14 is dropping this Monday. I'm very excited to try it out, only two days later than promised. Supposedly ROW-Bs compute will increase by 10X and resolution will be down to leaf size in realtime.

My criticisms of Version 13, was pretty much the same as every owner who used FSD Supervised. The rumor is most have been addressed in this version. Here is the list in order of my annoyance:

1. She sucks at parking to the point she will give up and ask you to take over, or sometimes take up two spaces.
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '[')color=#FF0000]This is fixed, she parks much better than me (and every other human I have seen).

2. She does not slow down quickly enough or early enough for school zones. Right now, I manipulate the speed in those zones. Can't do that with unsupervised FSD.
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '[')color=#FF0000]The Sloth mode has fixed this one, it stays at or below the posted speed limit and the deceleration to get there is very quick.

3.Same as #2 only around school busses.
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '[')color=#FF0000]Have not tried this one yet

4. She needs a larger vocabulary for her speech recognition especially in navigation.

5. I should be able to teach her how to navigate my driveways, including backing up to her power.
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '[')color=#FF0000]ROW-B nailed this one too with Version 14.1.3

Elon claims this version will "Feel" sentient, I'll let you know. $this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '[')color=#FF0000] And she does. I expect it will get even better over the next year.

Oh Lucky, EVERY car/truck Tesla makes, make a profit on it's sales, most continue to provide profit to Tesla for the life of the vehicle. So don't count on Tesla going bankrupt anytime soon. Afterall, it is a capitalist company in a capitalist country.

Peace

I did notice the "(supervised)" is no longer showing, probably in anticipation of removing the safety driver from the mix. Overall I give this upgade an A+. I also had a limit buy order in for $420.00 yesterday, and it filled for me. :-D

The Green Mirage: The Hidden Costs Behind the Electric Car Hype
https://www.americanthinker.com/article ... _hype.html
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '
')Governments are now pushing to eliminate gasoline and diesel cars by 2035 in favor of EVs. But once you factor in the energy and pollution costs of mining and manufacturing, the carbon footprint of an EV is worse than that of a diesel vehicle. Even after production, most EVs run on electricity generated from fossil fuels. Despite decades of subsidies, wind provides less than 5% of global energy and solar just 1%. According to a European Commission study, the total “well-to-plug” efficiency of electric energy — after accounting for production and distribution losses—is only 37%. The electric dream, then, is profoundly inefficient.

Marketing, Not Miracles

The first illusion came with the “hybrid.” These cars are still gasoline-powered; the tiny battery is charged by the engine itself. A hybrid that gets 55 mpg is no cleaner than a conventional car achieving the same mileage. A planet full of hybrids would remain 100% addicted to oil. The reality of EV production should end the myth. A single Tesla Model Y battery demands massive resources — about 12 tons of lithium ore, 5 tons of cobalt minerals, 3 tons of nickel ore, and 12 tons of copper ore. Roughly 250 tons of soil must be moved to yield small amounts of these metals. Each battery also requires hundreds of pounds of aluminum, steel, plastic, and graphite.

The giant Caterpillar machines used in this mining can burn hundreds of gallons of diesel every 12 hours. Once complete, we get a so-called “zero-emission” car — built with materials largely sourced from China or Africa, often mined by child labor. Tesla battery packs cost $5,000–$20,000 and last about ten years. It takes roughly seven years for an EV to reach “net-zero” carbon parity with a gasoline car — by which time the battery’s life is nearly over, and the cycle begins again.

The author covers all the main points I have elucidated here over the years. Many were no secret, even right from the start.

The Japanese, who typically don't tell Big Porky marketing Lies like their American counterparts clearly stated that the Half-breed Prius (pre-arse) was a transition vehicle, never intended to replace conventional vehicles. Yet look at where we are today? 4/5 of all supposed "EV" sales are actually these very half-breed cars. The lies got so thick and the failures of "EV" so glaring they had to change all the language in an effort to bury the past. ZEVs and HEVs are the order of the day now and a whole generation will grow up having no clue about the failure of the Battcar as it was originally marketed.

It reminds me of American politics where a Bush comes along embroils the nation in a multi-decade war over oil access and military industrial profits, but as soon as another stooge comes along he and all his sins are instantly forgotten. The new "Stooge" has his own pack of lies to sell, shale oil and healthcare reform, and as soon as those wheels begin to fall off he's forgotten and replaced by another. Meanwhile tent encampments spring up all along sidewalks across the nation as the once formerly employed find themselves excluded from the American contract. That's the thing about that culture, once you lose access to money you basically don't exist! You're off the unemployment rolls soon enough and are just another pile of waste for local councils to clean up. Many, even on this forum I suspect, have seen their fortunes take a dive over the past decade or so too. They still exist, they still have bank accounts and a home to live in, but the pressure is all around them and one by one they drop off into relative poverty so to speak.

There are many peoples all across the world who own their own homes but live in abject poverty. In some nations like South American ones the proportion is high, I've read about them and seen countless examples in youtube docos. When you're aware such conditions exist you tend to notice them. I saw a vid once about a snake catcher, he was after a Black Mamba that had found it's way into the roof of a large Besser block home in some African town. The home was very rudimentary but had concrete floors and 2 levels. The roof though was just corrugated iron laid on top and held in place by more Bricks. Some rooms weren't even covered. But people lived in there and cooked food etc. You don't have to be homeless to be down and out, you just have to live a nation with poor job prospects basically.

Atlanta At The Center Of Nationwide Boom In Rental Application Fraud

Some scammers pay rent for a few months before defaulting, forcing landlords to absorb losses and write off bad debt. Others never pay at all—like one Atlanta tenant who said, “Basically, the entire building was filled with people who got in fraudulently.” To combat the issue, many landlords now use verification software. As fraudsters adopt AI tools to fake documents, detection firms are responding in kind. “We fight fire with fire,” said Kyle Nelson of Snappt.

Can anyone IMAGINE that if this is what rocket scientists in Queensland aren't capable of, what those so stupid they can't graduate high school must be like?

From above article quoted...
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', ' ') A hybrid that gets 55 mpg is no cleaner than a conventional car achieving the same mileage.

Fails to then mention that the number of comparable non-battery utilizing vehicles getting 55 mpg is near or equal to zero. Hybrid is the way to get great mileage, pure EV is amazing mileage beyond even that in miles per overall joule. Its other drawbacks I don't contest, but mileage, is all win on the EV side.

Recently I had a chance to rent a Nissan, an earlier version of the same model I had once owned. Say...10 years difference between model years. My old Nissan could get 40 mpg on a good day, 60-70 mph, across 500 miles. The brand new rental (it had maybe 3000 miles on it?) was quite nice, but was able to hit a solid 50mpg in the 65-80 band, and 55mpg in the 55-65mph band.

So certainly some improvements in just run of the mill cages of the same model and manufacturer across a decade.

Once upon a time I had a Toyota Camry hybrid and was quite pleased with its 37-39 mpg highway potential, and solid 32-33 mpg around town. And recently when I look up what Camry's are supposed to get, it is in the 50's/gallon.

So mileage in general is certainly improving in normal cages.
