That bold part happened just the other day.
The funny thing about The Life of Brian was that Monty Python originally set out to do a send up of Christ himself.
They had all sorts of bits and skits worked out to directly to ridicule the life of Jesus. They read the Gospel accounts of his life and what he said and after reading what Christ said and did they decided that there was allot of good stuff in there and that making fun of someone who said "do unto others as you would have them do to you" and "this is my commandment Love one another" was not that funny.
That is why they came up with the idea of Brian who was mistaken for the Messiah.
