Writing fictional short story, need a semi-'realistic' Peak Oil mitigation scenario...

The movie Interstellar is basically them getting some sort of quantum equation from the future that helps them overcome climate change and peak oil and all that stuff....

I'm writing a short story where in which a super advanced Chinese civilizations sends information back in time to itself in present day to 'bootstrap' itself out of the Peak Oil and climate change issue... assuming it could send any knowledge to itself (not transporting a trillion trillion barrels of oil that it created with star trek replicator technology or merely sending a replicator back in time) and basically limited to sending information/data/blueprints/plans/strategies

what could it possibly send that could help bootstrap it out of the Peak Oil problem and then survive and thrive long enough to someday reach the advanced civilization state?

okay you mean blueprint or knowhow to get to working fusion reactor and fastest way to scale up

what did you mean by amrican slave labor???

in oil age each american now has 800 energy slaves, going back to slavery without oil wont work

That one is easy peasy. For a century or more we have been using technology to convert solid or gaseous hydrocarbons into liquid fuels. For a decade or so the US Navy has been developing machinery to extract CO2 from seawater as a feed stock for the process of converting gasses into liquid hydrocarbon fuels. Since 2015 they have had a prototype machine for doing exactly that. The synthetic fuel is not free by any stretch of the imagination, but it is not outrageously expensive for the convenience of having a stable liquid fuel either. Combine that with your power system of choice (I would use fission but so many NIMBYS are terrified of it).

Wham bam the Chinese get complete blueprints for building "refineries" that suck in sea water and pump out synthetic fuel to tankers. Within a decade dozens of these plants are built, synthetic fuel puts a ceiling on conventional petroleum value and peak oil ceases to be an issue. Chinese keep the "secret" technology for themselves and become swing producer for the world. As natural supply declines they build more "refineries" to meet demand. Best of all CO2 increases in the atmosphere are cut by nearly half as liquid fuel is increasingly synthetic carbon cycle which reuses already burned fuels as CO2 back into new fuel supplies helping stabilize world climate.

Thats easy.

The future could send back perfect birth control technology to today's China.

Then Great Leader Xi could decree a "zero child policy" in China to solve China's problems.

Better birth control technology would eventually result in negative population growth in China, with a concomitant reduction in China's demand for oil and other commodities. This would delay peak oil until new alternative energy sources could be developed. As a bonus China could stop building new coal-fired power plants and this would also lead to a reduction in China's bloated CO2 emissions and a reduction in planetary greenhouse warming, thereby helping the entire world.

Well, it wouldn't be great for the Americans but the Chinese would be benevolent overlords I'm sure..

For a little techno-thrill the plans sent back to the Chinese could be of a directed EMP weapon easily lifted into orbit over the US. A quick zap and in a few weeks Americans would be lining up at the ports to come work for President Xi.

It's something lots of people have heard of it, and no one knows what it is, not even the people selling it (it is probably just a math error anyway) But who cares? It is sciency by default, has the right name...
All you need is the appropriately configured resonator with a sufficiently scientific/techno sounding designation, i.e. Flux Capacitor - this would take some thought. Not sure if it should be magnum size or pocket-sized. Maybe the big reveal is the Great Wall was the collector known to the ancients all along but lost to modern fossil-burners. Only rediscovered too late to save the future peoples but with the dark matter powered time travel machine they can send back the secret and save humanity.

Thanks for the video, how come there have been no more updates on this technology even the comments in the youtube ask why they haven't tried to scaled it up etc

and why ordinary fission instead of fast breeder as the intial power source?

dark energy doesn't exists?! basically in simple terms it comes down to they cannot explain why their models don't work and cannot account for the missing mass and instead of admitting our knowledge of universe is not correct (see 'tired light') they were like whoa lets just explain it away by assuming there is all this dark matter and dark energy that must exists in this universe and we just cannot detect it etc....

All Gen IV reactor designs are full converters or outright breeders. The idea that only a fast spectrum reactor can breed is not actually factual.

As for the scale up issue, just because the Navy is not giving out regular press releases does not mean no work has been done over the last four years. The goal of the navy is to have systems like the prototype installed on every aircraft carrier so they can generate jet fuel onboard with their excess power and avoid having to haul fuel out to the carrier every week of the year to support flight operations.

Simple: The equation describes how dark matter can be fused into dark energy which can then be converted into ordinary energy by passing it through a gravitational singularity. This technology is forty years away from fruition and will always be thus.
