$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Newfie', 'I') think that we are moving in this direction all the time. Social Media keeping tabs on us.
More and more I see the social divide as between
A - those who desire the State to control us as a herd
B - those who desire personal responsibility and autonomy
I think A Is winning.
I am experiencing a bit of an internal conflict regarding this split. I have suggested the importance of trying to focus more on unifying the country, looking for common ground, seeing how this split is tearing us apart and the importance to try to mend this.
This impulse is in direct conflict with perhaps the necessity to encourage the split, feed it, ramp it up of sorts. Because this seems to be the will of the collective and the end game is a new cultural alignment that could go as far as re aligning states rights, sovereignty, possible seceding, migration etc.
The fundamental question? Should we encourage or discourage the split between these groups?
I am conflicted frankly.
