This is open discussion and I know it has nothing to do with oil. I'm just curious about who drives you up the wall. What celebrities make you wish you could reach into your television, yank out and horse whip? I'll start....

Whoopi Goldberg.

Your turn

I would say Hugh Grant but I actually saw him in a movie and role I liked: Love Actually, a British comedy (no, not necessarily an oxymoron). He played the British Prime Minister telling off Billy Bob Thorton as a brilliantly portrayed bully American President. Good movie. Excerpts from his telling-off-the-president speech: 'Great Britian is a small country, but a great country. The land of Shakespear, Churchill, The Beatles, Harry Potter, and [some soccer player]'s left foot, and his right foot too for that matter' All the Brits in the crowd get teary-eyed and Grant is the hero PM. (lovable fantasy)

Man I cannot pick.

I cannot stand it though when any actor sits there and talks about their "art and their craft" about the latest terd movie they just got done making, that drives me nuts.

Like what they do is some great gift to humanity.

Ellen Degenerate, She just ain't funny.
Tom Cruise, He's just weird
Rossie Odonnel, she's not funny but she smells funny.

I could go on for hours but why bother.
You observed it from the start
Now you’re a million miles apart
As we bleed another nation
So you can watch you favorite station
Now you eyes pop out your sockets
Dirty hands and empty pockets
Who? You!

I can't think of ANY that I like. Which is why I haven't watched TV in 20 years. I also don't throw what little money I make at the vain creepy crawlers that infest hollywood. Why are people so stupid?

Tom Cruise is like the walking dead, in a pretty skin.

Madonna is a suppurating pustule of vanity.

Michael Jackson, like something out of an Egyptian tomb.

Mel Gibson: a tiny penis whose self-grandiosity is insatiable. He gobbles up violence like some leather queen in a Mapplethorpe freak show.

What's interesting is that, even having no TV and not watching movies, I'm assailed by images of and gossip about celebrities, from I don't know where.

Celebrity is like some nerve gas that seeps in all the cracks in the media.

America is in a cultural coma, as far as I can see. People swill that shit.

One reason I've always admired Waters & Divine in "Female Trouble" is that they dispense with all the noble artistic horseshit and faux high-mindedness you see in the celebrity pig pile on the media. They just create a big stinkin pig pile in that movie--and rub your face in it.

"I'm a thief and a shitkicker and . . . I want to be famous."

Ancient Rome had its circuses, and we have ours. The masses must be kept entertained, and therefore distracted.

I frankly don't see the appeal of most of today's celebrities. They have a canned, "instant" quality. And there are so many of them---a new one is decanted every day. The less I know about them, the better off I figure I am.

Here's some customer reviews from one of the funniest books I've ever read about celebrit. Killjoy, Penultimate,if you haven't read it already, you must.

A Massive Swelling : Celebrity Reexamined as Grotesque Crippling Disease Other Cultural Revelations--Cintra Wilson

From Amazon books, a review

"Wilson concludes by showing the negative influence of fame on the arts themselves. Since money now instills value and fame has become its own reason for existence, the traditional cathartic purposes of art have been lost almost completely. People seek simply to be entertained rather than to exorcise the truth of the human experience in the relative safety of artistic pursuits. The tragic result is what Wilson astutely calls an audience "now so empty and well trained and schlock-addicted that it is indeed moved by these fatty theatrical dry humps and keeps coming back".

Another bit from a review--

She whips her prose into ferocious heights of hyperbolic contumely, imagining Celine Dion’s “insane plucking and starving and discipline-greedy self-abnegation”, and describing either Siegfried or Roy as a “narcissistically crazed Barbara Streisand of a homosexual German beastmaster”. Courtney Love is a “vain sociopath who venally choked enough money out of the world to transform herself into a ‘pretty lady’”, while - my favorite - a racist Las Vegas cabdriver is a “sweat-stained, unshaven orc, baring teeth like ancient mosaic tiles.”

A friend of mine nominates Hillary Duff. "She's only 17 or 18 and already earning $20 million for a single show on stage. And she can't sing---she relies on a voice synthesizer."

Don't worry, she's on the Lohan Express to Scanksville.

Ah yes, talk radio. What a suck ass Rush turned into, Hanity always did suck. Can't stand to hear any celeb toe a line.

Dunno why you people have a problem with poor little abused MJ. I vote euthanasia for the maligned little feller.

I take exception to that, Daculling. Take Christina Aguilera as an example. She earlier rode and rode the 'Lohan Express to Scanksville', which only transformed her into something like a virgin.

My 'favorite' 'bitch' celebrity with a capital 'C', Nancy Grace, the crime lady on CNN. Something tells me that if crime were all of a sudden to stop everywhere, this woman would become very, very unhappy.

Oh Michael Savage on the radio he is such a complete ass it boggles my mind. He screams and rants and says the most assign things he cuts off callers then rants about them.

Don Imus is up there though, what a prick. 60 minutes did a segment about how he was such a humanitarian how he would have sick kids out to his 14,000 acre ranch in New Mexico.

I thought then what a fraud he has kids out there for a couple of weeks a year and rights the whole thing off as a charity. What a friggin scam. Now the IRS is investigating him for same.

Ben Stiller that is a good one he just aint funny.

Oh and Adam Sandler his shtick is wearing very thin.
