460 views. We have had other films do a lot better, but this is our first almost an hour film. Very unpopular message. Our Infinity Miles Per Gallon got over 250,000 views, but that was back when knowing about Peak Oil wasn't akin to admitting that you believe in conspiracy theories. Think of this one as a historical film, since it's about that time.

It has it's light moments. I guess back then I thought something would change if the problem was just pointed out to people. Unfortunately we are not going to change anything unless it's in our best interest.

Revi - I had a somewhat radical thought the other day regarding our use of the term "denier". Referring, of course, to those that deny the burning of fossil fuel is having a significant impact on our climate today and even more so in the future. So here's the radical part that will no doubt cause some to become unhinged: a second group of deniers that will no accept the fact that regardless of the amount of solid proof that burning hydrocarbons is creating climate change the vast majority of fossil fuel CONSUMERS will reject any effort to significantly reduce the consumption of fossil fuels.

This is certainly not taking a shot at your effort to spread the word. Nor that of any other efforts. But I do have a very serious problem agreeing that educating the public on the dynamics of GHG production will cause the consumers to alter their consumption habits to any meaningful degree.

OK, let the backlash begin. At that point I can ask when the increase in atmospheric CO2 will begin. Notice I'll only be asking when the increasing stats will stop...not a meaning decrease in the current level of CO2.

Rockman, I agree. Think of being at a buffet. They tell you that the roast beef is running out. Do you take a bit more because when it's time for seconds there won't be any, or do you conserve for the others behind you in the line? I'll bet most people take two quietly.

I watched people going up north for snowmobiling today. They all spent around $50,000 on their rigs and they are going to spend another $500 this weekend. They must have a lot of disposable income, but even so it's lunacy considering what's coming. They are going to snowmobile themselves into debt because that's what their culture tells them to do. It's human nature to use whatever you can while you can. We're no good at conserving for the future.

I am glad that we got a chance to do this film. We did a kickstarter and managed to get enough to finish it. We had thousands of hours of film and Nelson Cole edited it into a great film. I still don't think he's convinced about peak oil, but he tells a heck of a story. He had a vision of it from the first filming and crafted it into a story of one man's obsession.

I showed it to some teenagers today. I cut out the boring parts, and they liked it. I think they may be able to understand things better than most adults. It's a hard concept, but it's necessary to learn about reality. Or is it?
