I don't recall a single case of anyone being killed while camping alone in Texas for at least the last 10 years. But tens of thousands surrounded by others have died while driving, walking their dog, filling up at a gas station or just sitting in their front yard. And I don't recall being afraid for one moment while sitting alone in my home...in my wheelchair.

Concerns seem to be rather relative.
