Burial Goods

[smilie=5flowerface.gif] So, something a little different.
As in older traditions, people of yar where buried with their prize posessions. What would yours be?
Mine:
1) My copy of Meditations by Marcus Aurelius
2) My Leatherman multitool
3) My vintage 70's bike
Of course, this presumes that wherever you turn up after you bite it, allows us to bring our junk with us...
Cheers

History shows us, those buried with anything of value to anyone who follows do not rest in peace. Sooner or later grave robbers will have their way with you, and the more stuff you take with you the more likely you are to be targeted.
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Alfred Tennyson', 'W')e are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

And here I thought it was only me and little old Chinese men that would so strongly favor Meditations by Marcus Aurelius in a world where I would expect a VERY common answer among people under 30 to be their smart phone.

(There ARE cell towers and battery chargers in the afterlife, right?)
Given the track record of the perma-doomer blogs, I wouldn't bet a fast crash doomer's money on their predictions.

Yes, it made me kind of sad to be told NOT to bury my girlfriend or her mother with their favorite rings, as they were likely to be stolen during the burial. Sometimes when I look at what humanity is doing to the planet and the inevitable consequences of BAU growth, and I look at such behavior, even in a wealthy country, I'm forced to believe we're getting exactly what we deserve, overall.

It's just too bad we have to take so much of the rest of the biosphere with us.
