Bought some shares of ESLR and AIM Energy Fund

I'm hedging my bets and bought some shares of Evergreen Solar (ESLR) and AIM Energy Fund. I feel pretty confident that oil will continue to rise, oil companies will reap huge profits, and alternative energy sources will soon come to center stage.

Anyone else buying these stocks/mutual funds.

Edit: I figured I'd post something other than the doom and gloom all over this site.

Thats not a bad idea I am betting on railroads. Some of the smaller ones that are not as well know GRW, RRA are the symbols.

RRA ships coal out of Wyoming and Canada I think that is a safe bet to keep going up.

I have a decent amount of Fidelity Select Energy (FSENX)

I like this fund because they leave the door open to shift their investment paradigm into ‘alternatives’ if needed. In their prospectus, they discuss the possibilities of investment in solar, nuclear and bio’s if the market is favorable.

I got in ESLR at 2.34

If they have another good quarter I expect the stock will rise . . .

Yeah that sucks Cowboy but do not panic just hang on. Remember you got in it for the long haul not the short term.

All those who went long on Oil futures are probably crapping their pants about now, they could be in far far worse shape then you. If we some how make it to December and oil is at 45-55 allot of people are going to be up a creek.

I'm having a look at smaller railroad companies, such as small niche manufacturers like RailPower (http://www.railpower.com/).

What are your thoughts on uranium producers(i.e. Cameco)? China is planning god knows how many new reactors (including the very interesting pebble-bed reactor design) and I'm betting on other nations turning to them as part of their strategy as well.

I put CCJ on my watch list looks like an intersting company. Not sure about the railroads but I'll keep an eye on those too.

I know in my area they've reopened some of the rails that they had previously decommissioned. Perhaps they're making a comeback.
