It sounds like you might have chosen the wrong word. Did you mean to say consciousness? Perhaps you were getting at what is deeper than that in man, what we might call the subconscious?
We do act sometimes against our conscious understanding of ourselves. I will be good. I will be good. How can you be when you aren't the one making the decision? What happens to us when our parents, or that one uncle, or the president when we were beginning to grow is actually the one deciding? Maybe it isn't so much that even, but our anger over what our lives have become in the meantime, or at not getting what we want? On the Depression thread it was said that depression is anger turned inward. Some people seem to be able to just let things go. Others need to work through the causes to find a solution. But discovering what the cause was is only half the problem, if all along anger has been deciding for you.

Part of my personal diet includes the digestion of evangelical topics (shall I state so as run-away catholic or what), meaning listening to Anthony Patch for instance who delivers a very eloquent form of evangelism when commenting on Cern and the potential opening of the demon-freeway !

Personally - I seldom to none deal with anything out of the ordinary - however, it is highly interesting to listen to Project Camelot et al. (at least they threw me off back in 2011) and there is absolutely nothing wrong to integrating such topics - as much as they require a "desire".
It even rhymes!
