I think this story deserves to be in this thread both for its impact and as current events. Venezuela is basically a good sized country which now seems to have completely collapsed economically and socially. So this may be a preview of events in other countries. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-05-1 ... imals-food

Speaking of Washington state: "Now the state must come up with a rule to cut greenhouse gas emissions by the end of 2016. In addition, it must make recommendations to the legislature next year to update the state's greenhouse gas reduction goals based on the most current science." Well, that might address the largest source the fossil fuel consumers) of GHG produced in the state. But what about the GHG produced in other states by the refinery products created in Washington...the 5th largest producers of those fossil fuel products in the country?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('onlooker', 'T')hought I would create a thread whereby posters can chime in as to what may occur in 2016. I would add please try and stay within the parameters of the Geo-political-Geo-economic-Geo-social matters. I limit it to 2016 as I think the planet is becoming more volatile and making further off predictions is pretty baseless. So here I go. I believe War will continue in the ME, the refugee problem will get even worse, oil prices will finally go higher, the World economic situation while not collapsing will continue to stagnate, more and more protests around the world (this one is pretty easy one to call), Hillary will probably win the Presidency, the climate system will continue to give us shock and awe especially in the Arctic. So all in all not necessarily something to look forward to. Just enjoy the present and let the chips fall where they may. So lets keep this thread up and running maybe throughout this coming year. Happy New Year to everyone. :)

Looks like the only one you got badly wrong was Hillary for President. What are you predicting for 2017?

Hmm, good question. I just posted a story about gasoline prices rising precipitously in Mexico come January, looks like we can have some pretty extreme events happen related to the border and Mexico. Perhaps Trump will make good on his promise to deport massive amounts of people and in turn Mexico will look even more like Venezuela and we may see a full fledged collapse of the Mexican Oil Industry. Oh and maybe just maybe we may see an attempt to impeach Trump.

Impeached for what? He hasn't even been sworn in yet. Look I know Hillary was your girl but she is dead. Figuratively speaking unfortunately.

Bend the knee or break the knee. Its all the same to me.

I hear that RFK stadium is going to be re-purposed for 30 days of gladiatorial games where Muslims will be killed by wild beasts for Christian's amusement. Course I might have heard it wrong. :-D
