Carl, how can somebody be so smart as to know how to operate a XKL TOAD PDP-10 clone while being so stupid as to turn it on?

Hi All,
It's time for my annual garage heating week when I bring up my
XKL TOAD on the net. Those of you that already have accounts know
who you are.
The system is fully functional, except for some issues with DNS
and mail. Anyone who can figure out how to make those perform
properly is welcome to a permanent account, whenever I have
the time to bring the server up on the net.
The high cost of electricity here in California is the main reason
the TOAD has been powered off. Prior to the price gouging we had
I had the machine up for nearly a year and a half with no crashes.
If anyone wants to help with defraying the cost of the power to
keep the machine on the net 24x7, feel free to contact me and we
can work something out.
Lastly, I am willing to create guest accounts for those of you
who want to compare notes with your own ongoing projects and
want access to a TOPS-20 system. I just need a little coaxing.
The machine got a few AC FAULTs while bringing it up after a
two-three year rest, as well as having to rap the disk drives
sharply once or twice to overcome stiction. So, it may or may
not decide to crash for either of those issues, and I will reboot
as soon as I am aware of the problem.
Send me email (it is decipherable looking at the reply address
although I'm hoping that none of the email mining bots will
get it right.
-Carl
