Yes, I like that terms cannibalistic capitalism. I think where we are seeing that is in rich countries whereby the middle classes are being squeezed with debt, a hollowed out work force and especially in the US with monies being diverted to bail out "too big" to fail banks and other entities. So yes, we are seeing rabid greed as bubbles are being blown up and the shrewd well connected investors coming out with lucrative profits while are others bite the dust. We of course have for awhile been seeing jobs being exported out and whole manufacturing industries becoming obsolete as capital looks for the highest return in low cost countries like China. Of course also technology has taken away jobs. The 401 K and other retirements schemes seem to be a cunning way to rob people of money with little chance that workers will ever see benefit from this.
