$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Hawkcreek', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Apneaman', 'S')outh Louisiana is ground zero and that is without any storms.

Losing Ground: Southeast Louisiana Is Disappearing, Quickly
"In just 80 years, some 2,000 square miles of its coastal landscape have turned to open water, wiping places off maps, bringing the Gulf of Mexico to the back door of New Orleans and posing a lethal threat to an energy and shipping corridor vital to the nation’s economy.
And it’s going to get worse, even quicker."

One reason I moved to Washington state - 100 miles south of Canada - 2400 ft elevation.

So now you only have to worry about earthquakes, volcanoes, draught, wild fires and mudslides. 8O

Just thought I'd come to this thread to remind everyone that the Mother of Storms was totally inconsequential.

A comparison of this week's drought monitor chart vs last weeks drought monitor chart leads me to the conclusion that you are either illiterate, an idiot, or completely uneducated; or maybe more than one of the above.

That is more than consequential; that is an incredible, massive change over a one week period.

I've actually talked about these sorts of systems before; pacific hurricanes, pulled across the mountains of Mexico into Texas are a source of climatologicly significant amounts of moisture; they fill reservoirs, restore soil moisture, and very importantly, provide a strong pulse of freshwater down into our bays and estuaries, which is critical for the health of those systems.

Hurricane damage is more a question of rolling the dice with regard to where exactly it comes ashore.
Yes we are, as we are,
And so shall we remain,
Until the end.
