I have a masters in genetics and have been interested in energy technology my entire life. I have studied this subject obsessively and these are solutions I think would work. Just because almost nothing is being done about climate change and peak oil it doesn't mean nothing could be done.

Stienhaus and Moir are the experts. The reason why we we don't have fusion now is because we tried to put the sun in a box, rather than putting a hydrogen bomb in a power plant.

Wouldn't it be easier to just reprogram the humans with magic dust, Soma, or somesuch? We're already reprogramming ourselves on a mass scale, just in silly and destructive ways. If I were King, I would change the program. I would also decree that humans have to live/die with the consequences of their behaviour.

Theres no reason we can't replace most cars with electrics either. In the UK at least almost no-one makes a journey that couldn't be done on a single battery charge.

I'd also like to see remote charge points in the road, you could recharge the batteries a small amount in locations where cars stop like traffic lights etc. Which would boost the maximum journey distance.
