$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Raphael', 'B')ut you are followers of Mars my friend....the God of War....the Judaeo Christians who accepted the gift of fire and dance around its flames.
Mars is described as patriarchal, not unlike the influence we have been under for nearly 5000 years.

If I were a follower of Mars I wouldn't hesitate to do what I want, which is to spend money on a new, live Katana, and buy an AR15 for my own personal pleasure. $400 gets me a seriously strong, sharp cutter, and the AR15 is about $1000.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'A')nd of course Satan would trick the sheeple into following the wrong sheppard...the Pope will lead humanity to their end.
That's his job. Don't ya see it?

When the pope suggests I should spend my treasure on a new AR; come talk to me. I doubt the Pope would even approve of the number of hours I've spent practicing the use of the above mentioned tools.

His Holiness the Pope: pro-OWS, but also for One World Bank

Unread postby Sixstrings » Mon 24 Oct 2011, 11:44:18

Vatican calls for global authority on economy, raps “idolatry of the market”

The Vatican called on Monday for the establishment of a “global public authority” and a “central world bank” to rule over financial institutions that have become outdated and often ineffective in dealing fairly with crises. The document from the Vatican’s Justice and Peace department should please the “Occupy Wall Street” demonstrators and similar movements around the world who have protested against the economic downturn.

“Towards Reforming the International Financial and Monetary Systems in the Context of a Global Public Authority,” was at times very specific, calling, for example, for taxation measures on financial transactions. “The economic and financial crisis which the world is going through calls everyone, individuals and peoples, to examine in depth the principles and the cultural and moral values at the basis of social coexistence,” it said.

It condemned what it called “the idolatry of the market” as well as a “neo-liberal thinking” that it said looked exclusively at technical solutions to economic problems. “In fact, the crisis has revealed behaviours like selfishness, collective greed and hoarding of goods on a great scale,” it said, adding that world economics needed an “ethic of solidarity” among rich and poor nations.

“If no solutions are found to the various forms of injustice, the negative effects that will follow on the social, political and economic level will be destined to create a climate of growing hostility and even violence, and ultimately undermine the very foundations of democratic institutions, even the ones considered most solid,” it said.

It called for the establishment of “a supranational authority” with worldwide scope and “universal jurisdiction” to guide economic policies and decisions.

Asked at a news conference if the document could become a manifesto for the movement of the “indignant ones”, who have criticised global economic policies, Cardinal Peter Turkson, head of the Vatican’s Justice and Peace department, said: “The people on Wall Street need to sit down and go through a process of discernment and see whether their role managing the finances of the world is actually serving the interests of humanity and the common good.

Well I agree with all the quotes, they're right in line with the OWS message:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '')The economic and financial crisis which the world is going through calls everyone, individuals and peoples, to examine in depth the principles and the cultural and moral values at the basis of social coexistence,”

But.. and this is a big but..

I'm certainly suspicious of a "One World Bank" with "supranational authority" as the answer. 8O 8O

It will be interesting to see the Christian Right's response to a call for a "One World Bank" from the Pope. Banksters have to love it.

I suppose that with all the wealth they have, they want to make sure the banks survive. After all, both the banks and the Vatican are in the business of plunder and control of the world population.

They both want to enslave your mind and your pocketbook.

Makes me laugh with pity when I see ill-informed comments linking the catholic church to riches. Yeah sure they have lots of land and historical arts and artifacts that they won't sell. But that's more to do with their faith than wealth.

Ratzingerburger probably has more humility in a skin flake that most of us have in our entire bodies. Most of these guys never get to experience real luxury in their lives but a few make it to pope (usually by about 70yo) and get to sit in a nice chair occassionally and think about how they might help those in need while evading being assinated.

Of course you might argue that Mother Theresa died a very wealthy woman :)

Ok...........

Financially speaking, Germany's dioceses are in excellent shape. "The Catholic Church claims that it's poor, but the truth is that it hides its wealth," says Carsten Frerk, a Berlin political scientist who, after years of research, is publishing "Violettbuch Kirchenfinanzen" (The Violet Book of Church Finances) this fall. Frerk estimates the cash assets of the church's legal entities at about €50 billion. The Catholics, who are not releasing their own figures, accuse Frerk of being a prejudiced, atheistic critic of the church.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'F')rancis (Latin: Franciscus, Spanish: Francisco, Italian: Francesco; born Jorge Mario Bergoglio;[b] 17 December 1936) is the Bishop of Rome, elected on 13 March 2013. As such, he is the 266th and current Pope of the Catholic Church, the head of the worldwide Catholic Church, and sovereign of the Vatican City State.

Born in Buenos Aires as the son of Italian parents, Bergoglio worked briefly as a chemical technician before entering seminary. He was ordained a priest in 1969. From 1973 to 1979 he was Argentina's Provincial superior of the Society of Jesus, became Archbishop of Buenos Aires in 1998, and cardinal in 2001. Following the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI, on 13 March 2013 the papal conclave elected Bergoglio, who chose the papal name Francis in honour of Saint Francis of Assisi. Francis is the first Jesuit pope; the first pope from the Americas, and the Southern Hemisphere, he may increase attention given to Southern Hemisphere concerns since the majority of Catholics are now there.[2]

Throughout his life, both as an individual and a religious leader, he has been known for his humility, his concern for the poor, and his commitment to dialogue as a way to build bridges between people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and faiths. Since his election to the papacy, he has displayed a simpler and less formal approach to the office, choosing to reside in the Vatican guesthouse rather than the papal residence.

It has been two months and not a single person has commented. I am very surprised, to say the least. After all when Cardinal Ratzinger became Pope Benedict there was a huge discussion.

Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Vistion Master is correct, there is the so called Black Pope as well, Kerry Cassidy mentioned this one in an interview less than a month ago ("a Rotschild speaks out" on Project Camelot).
The picture is outdated however, Mr. Dutchman Kolvenbach is gone since 2008 if I am not mistaken...

FWIW i'm kinda happy that the new pope took after saint francis (the patron saint of the environment) and acknowledges the plight of the economically challenged

too bad more elected officials didn't follow that train of thought (instead of being self serving morally bankrupt idiots)

Best pope in centuries!

People love this Pope, he's just so.. *Christian*. We are not used to this, Christians actually being Christians. He keeps saying such Christ-like things.

I love all the humility. Paid his own hotel bill after his election. He wears the same old worn-out shoes he always has.

Drives a beat-up old car. He sneaks out of the Vatican at night to feed and talk to the homeless in the streets.

He calls atheists his allies. He tells them to go out and do good, and he'll meet them there.

Here's his quote about the church establishment:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '')Leaders of the Church have often been Narcissus, flattered and sickeningly excited by their courtiers. The court is the leprosy of the papacy,” he said.

He says he doesn't believe in communism, but he's met a lot of communists who were good people.

He sent that German "Bishop of Bling" off to a monastery or something -- the guy had squandered church money on $10,000 toilets and jacuzzis and whatnot.

He never says anything hateful, notice how he only says negative things on the same kind of topics that Christ did.

I guess conservatives don't like him so much, but even they can't complain: he's cleaning up the Church, filling up the pews, and a good humble man, what more can you ask.

I am kind of surprised nobody has mentioned that two Popes are being canonized tomorrow. John XXIII and John Paul II will be officially Sainted starting at 3:30 AM.
II Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

This Pope just won't let up - Pope Francis rails against consumerism to G20

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'P')ope Francis had choice words for countries meeting at the G20 leadership conference this weekend, reminding the world leaders to keep the natural environment in mind as they discuss economic issues.

The Pope sent a letter to Australia Prime Minister Tony Abbott, who’s chairing the conference of G20 nations, a group of major developed and emerging economies that includes the U.S., China and the E.U. In it, the Pope warned the countries against unchecked consumerism, as well as reminding the leaders of the people in their own countries who are unemployed and who can’t get enough to eat.

“There are constant assaults on the natural environment, the result of unbridled consumerism, and this will have serious consequences for the world economy,” the Pope wrote in his letter.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')hough a major economic summit presents a timely opportunity for the Pope to warn about the dangers of consumerism, this isn’t the first time Pope Francis has warned about consumerism or has appealed to civilization to take better care of the environment. In 2013, the Pope called consumerism a “poison” that young people are particularly susceptible to. In May, Pope Francis said that Christians should “safeguard Creation,” warning that if humanity destroys the planet, humans themselves will ultimately be destroyed.

“Creation is not a property, which we can rule over at will; or, even less, is the property of only a few: Creation is a gift, it is a wonderful gift that God has given us, so that we care for it and we use it for the benefit of all, always with great respect and gratitude,” Francis said.

Francis also said in July that “exploiting the Earth” by destroying forests — especially Amazonian rainforests — is a sin.

Maybe earth is a stepping stone.

Besides all of Jupiter and Saturn's moons, and mars..

There's like 200 million comets and rocks in the kuiper belt and oort cloud, the outer shell of the system.

There's lots of stuff out there -- pick whatever it is you want or need -- you want platinum and gold? There's a near earth asteroid with $5 trillion worth of platinum and half a trillion worth of gold. That's just ONE asteroid. Out of what, probably 400 million such objects in this solar system alone.

Maybe earth is a stepping stone.. maybe we were supposed to run out, to be forced to step off.. and to go forward into the universe, be fruitful, and multiply..

P.S. Pope franics has said some things that indicate he believes in evolution and the big bang theory:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'P')ope Francis declares evolution and Big Bang theory are real and God is not 'a magician with a magic wand'
