PeakOil is You

It's so simple yet frustrating.

What's on your mind?

[smilie=5arg.gif] I have a friend ,he is 21 years old just bought a condo for$ 209,000.00. His parents took 40k out of there home equity loan to put the down payment for him.He is two or one year away from having a bachelors degree in finance. In highschool his g.p.a floated around 4.0 and in college he has got mostly A's.............

I get frustrated telling him about peak oil he calls me a chicken little and just tells me that the world is screwed up and I just need to be optimistic. i have sent him 25+ articles and transcript from peak oil.com
i have explained to him the law of thermal dynamics and liebig's law and so much other in depth info .He has read most of it ,if not all.I just don't understand how he, can't get. Basically he has done everything by the book to get ahead in this sytsem ,but I try to tell him how the system is screwed. It really gets me.I grew up in michigan and moved out here to southern california four years ago. I hate it in southern cali and am currently saving $$$ to get the heck out. I was luckily raised in the country and very poor .I know i'm a surviver in life ,but peak oil is some really scary sh*t .;I just don't see how my friend doesn't open his eyes to the infrastructure that sorrounds us and freak out. I just pray I can get my family out of here soon.... 8O As for my friend everything he has done to this day he will soon realize : was a waste of energy and his investment condo is more like an anchor and his degree will probally be used as toilet paper or a good fire starter.l

It sounds like he is one of the few people who actually believe Rush Limbaugh on everything.

Mike Ruppert's mentioned that he'd like to live in Oregon post-crash. Maybe you should look into it. There's agriculture there; even a bit of open country left. And it's not far from CA. How much are you gonna need to get your family out of there? (P.S.--Don't BUY a house when you do. Not before the housing bubble bursts. Then you'll practically be GIVEN one! Sell YOUR place NOW, move on the $$ you make, RENT, and then when the bubble bursts, you'll be set! Think about it. . . .)

He has probably invested too much in the system to even consider it might crash. I bet he has never seen starvation up close and personal either.
Hello, my name is Rax. I live in the Amazon jungle with a bunch of women. We are super eco feminists and our favourite passtimes are dangling men by their ankles and discussing peak oil. - apparently
