There is a really sweet flash program that is counting down the years until we are totally out of oil.

Heh, that's if we continue consuming at current levels and then ... bang! Just suddenly stop after thirty years.

That site (if it becomes popular like lifeaftertheoilcrash) could actually do harm to the cause: 30 years seems like a long time, so why do anything now? (Of course, in reality, we'll have oil forever, a bell curve never reaches the axis...)

Well looking at the site there is one ad on there if they are trying to get site hits. The clock is misleading in my mind. It's counting down until known reserves are all pumped based on current consumption rates. That is fine and all but that is not peak oil. Also I think the guess that current consumption will remain anywhere near valid right up until the end is insane.
neat to see that there is only 30 years left at current rates though. and Boy is that thing ever moving.
shame on us, doomed from the start
god have mercy on our dirty little hearts

That clock should have a "days till done" instead of years. Then we'll see more action on the clock.
