The memo is getting some coverage in the US. The memo is new, but
the information in the memo isn't all that new.

A lot of America's knew before the Iraq resolution that Bush wanted to
invade Iraq and had been inclined to do so even before 911. Some fraction
of those supported the invasion anyway. And events have made it pretty
clear to anyone above the age of 10, that preparations and the
original justifications were largely lacking.

Now, since then, a lot of stuff has some out and larger percent than before
have come to the conclusion Bush had decided, or really wanted to invade
before the UN thing.

In any case, the percentage of support was about 80% or so when we
started and nearly 60% now believe it was a mistake.

I believe that those that are outraged are those that voted against Bush in the last election (I did). Those that voted for Bush want to keep chanting the mantra "everything's gonna be all right". They don't want to believe that it's all coming apart. This is why they're preparing for the Rapture. As long as God comes down and swoops them all up, they won't have to worry about unemployment, starving, and global warming. On the other hand, those left behind in the Rapture won't, either, because they'll be wailing and gnashing their teeth.

I mean not to poke fun at anyone's religious beliefs, but only to use this example to show the absurdity of those who refuse to believe anything but sunny skies are on their way...

1. The sheeple don't really WANT the REAL news. They want "the American way of life." The REAL news tells them they can't have it.

2. The rulers of the sheeple don't WANT the REAL news aired. The sheeple might wake up and be a nuisance in their plans for a country under elite/military control.

3. The rulers of the rulers don't WANT the REAL news aired. They haven't quite finished setting up their little impenetrable fiefdoms, from which they will rule the surviving human race. Globalization? World dominion? Well, at least regional dominion. . .like in those good ol' Middle Ages! They're in control NOW; they'll want to be in control THEN!

The BBC isn't a wonderful impartial news service. It purports to be, but it first backed the Establishment against the British General Strike in 1926. Thats when it stopped being a private company under Lord Reith and became a public corporation. It's just a bit more subtle about how it slants the news.

An example, Greg Dyke, the BBC director general, and Andrew Gilligan, the reporter, who broke the news that the British Govt was lying about WMDs have both been sacked. Even though subsequent events have proved them correct.

But no-one who lied in Goverment has been sacked. They've been promoted.

It will be great when all americans wake up and see the evil incarnate in the Bush regime and throw them out. Get honorable, honest democrats in office, global warming will end. If Bush gets impeached Cheney would become President unless they had charges against him that would prevent it. Who would be President then and then who?

Clinton got impeached and he stayed right in office, puffin' and grinnin' oops I guess it was Monica who was puffin', how did impeaching Clinton change anything?

Best-case scenario is, Bush is ousted and we have President Cheney. Why didn't the Dems just get out to the polls in 04 and make an actual change? Why'd they nominate a stuffed shirt like Kerry, who only made Bush seem not so bad?

There's a lot to answer for here, and the Dems just don't get it.

Twenty years ago in law school a good friend of mine was a physician, about 60 years old, who had decided to go to law school just for "fun". He had grown up in Argentina and moved away when he was in his 40's.

He used to look at me and say " Beel, you know the difference between Argentina and the U.S.? In Argentina, we all KNOW the press is controlled."

Since we've found out that the intelligence agencies have reps in all the major news sources around the country, it's starting look more overt than just corporate interest.

This is just another ploy by Democrats to capitalize on Bush's current low approval ratings. The memo is a non-issue in the US. Who cares whether he made up his mind or not at that poin--does it really matter? There were more than enough reasons to go into Iraq pre and post 9/11.
