I believe that those that are outraged are those that voted against Bush in the last election (I did). Those that voted for Bush want to keep chanting the mantra "everything's gonna be all right". They don't want to believe that it's all coming apart. This is why they're preparing for the Rapture. As long as God comes down and swoops them all up, they won't have to worry about unemployment, starving, and global warming. On the other hand, those left behind in the Rapture won't, either, because they'll be wailing and gnashing their teeth.
I mean not to poke fun at anyone's religious beliefs, but only to use this example to show the absurdity of those who refuse to believe anything but sunny skies are on their way...
