Well I must say I expected someone to chime in and report that this info is incorrect & why.

So far the only excuses have been... excuses.

"Only human"

I agree that they were only human, as are we all.

But nobody is holding me up for sainthood, or great spirithood.

Surprised that some of our "outspoken" posters have not chimed in...

Perhaps it's because I posted it... at least big_rc had the balls to speak his mind.

Don't be shy... I ain't gonna ban you. (probably :))

And lorenzo Michael_Layden - This isn't my opinion... I'm just quoting stuff I found. I'm wide open to any denials etc... but so far no joy. I get that each of these folks did some good stuff, but that's really not related is it?

Or are we just happy to have the trains run on time?
The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

Aaron:

Not even the Catholic church claims that a saint is somebody who never ever did anything of dubious morality. This is because, under such a narrow definition of sainthood, I don't think even Jesus would qualify. Can you actually think of anybody who would? Even if the particular claims you posted were refuted, I'm sure one could find some dirt about Mother Theresa, Ghandi, and just anybody you care to mention.

Even Winston Churchill (voted the Greatest Ever Brit) authorised the use of poison gas against the Kurds.
