Let's get our voices heard in this poll! Needless to say, I voted in the too late category. I'm actually surprised that almost 1/3 of responses are in the too late category!

Are you concerned about oil supplies? * 510 responses

No, there are plenty of resources.
14%

Yes, we need to develop alternatives now.
58%

Too late, we are headed for disaster.
28%

Here's the link to the article discussing Simmons' new book(article was on the front page of MSNBC!): http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8217587/

Here's a direct link to the voting page(I think):

So far they only have like 1000 responses. We have a chance here to spam them and bring our number up to over 50%. It's currently at 30%.

MSNBC: Can Saudi Arabia keep its promise?

John Schoen of MSNBC.com discusses "Twilight in the Desert" by Matthew Simmons and offers readers the chance to vote on the outlook; 1) plenty of oil remains, 2) We need to begin developing alternatives soon, 3) We are screwed.

Edit: Apologies, the topic has already been posted in the Peak Oil Discussion folder.

Answer:

NO
Stop filling dumpsters, as much as you possibly can, and everything will get better.

Just think it through.
It's not hard to do.

Can't see the point in voting 'too late'. Sounds like begging for more militarism to me, and we know what a waste of oil THAT is.

But they're asking for our honest opinion, Liamj! If I voted for yes, let's use renewables, I'd be being dishonest!

I think it IS too late. And they've already decided on the resource war route, so my opinion changes nothing. Too bad they didn't have an "It's Too Late, But We Can Still Mitigate Damage" choice. That would've been my vote! But "It's Too Late" was as close to my opinion as they gave me. . . . :(
