That money was already in the economy before it was taxed.

Its pretty weak to say taxes are good because they put money into the economy when basic math demonstrates the main effect of taxes is to skim off a sizable amount of the money for the government itself so that less is returned to the economy then was there originally. [smilie=eusa_naughty.gif]

When you say that the money just goes to strengthen the government, isn't one aspect that more people are employed by the government? In that case it helps unemployment, and everything that the employees spend goes back into the economy.
