Texas wants to steal jobs from California

Texas Gov Perry is touring California trying to recruit businesses to move to Texas with their jobs. California just raised business taxes and income taxes yet again, so Perry is trying to convince business people they'll do better in Texas where there is no personal income tax and the business tax is much lower then California. Perry's strategy seems to be working---with both states stuck in the WORST RECOVERY EVER, Texas has done a much better job then California of creating jobs while keeping taxes low and the state books balanced. In fact Texas alone accounts for a significant proportion of the total job creation in the entire USA.

The foodstamp rolls have recovered to all time record highs---on average 11,239 people have been added to the foodstamp rolls every single day since January 2009.

folks on food stamps now number over 49 million---greater then the population of Spain!!

Of course, if we were having a real recovery the number of people on foodstamps would be going down as more people got good jobs.

President Obama gave another masterful SOTU speech, just like his previous four masterful SOTU speeches. Once again he promised to cut the deficit and create jobs and help the middle class and cut college costs and end the deficit and attain oneness with just about every other darn promise there is. He even promised to build new infrastructure and initiate a vast new entitlement to "free universal high quality preschool education" for all and keep the military strong and save medicare and strengthen the middle class and create jobs. And then he promised to do it all without adding a penny to the deficit.

Gosh....wouldn't it be great if even a tiny bit of it was true.

Obama didn't say the words "Hope" and "Change" this time but for a moment here and there you could still feel it.

I think it's funny that Obama is being blamed for the weakness of the current recovery when Republicans are the folks who gave us the WORST RECESSION EVER.

So what if it is the worst recovery ever? At least it's a recovery. I'd rather have that than the WORST DEPRESSION EVER that would have resulted from the standard Republican incompetence inherent in a McCain/Palin or Romney/Ryan administration.

But let's face facts, just for a second: all the ire about Obama is just down to racism, pure and simple: the fact is, Libertarian Tea Party wing-nuts just can't stand that a "nigger" got to be president when, by rights, he should have been mowing Uncle Cletus's lawn. But they can't admit that, so they make up lame catch phrases like "WORST RECOVERY EVER" in the hope that it will catch on so they never have to see another guy with the "wrong skin color" in the Oval Office.
