Latinos fastest growing group in the US

Unread postby lorenzo » Thu 09 Jun 2005, 19:33:48

Top story today: new census reveals continued latinization of the USA.

CNN

A new census reveals that the USA is quickly becoming latinized. Hispanics accounted for half of the US population growth between 2003 and 2004, and this trend will only strengthen in the future.

Today, one in seven Americans is Latino. In 2050, white Americans will be a minority in the US (yes, sadly, it will take that long).

The latinization of the USA is obviously good news for the world in general.
So keep it up amigas!

That's O.K.

Once an astute girl told my class:

"I'm not white; I'm Polish!" and I smacked my head against the desk.

As time goes by, and I find more and more craptacular stupidity, I am starting to agree with the assessment! (That being Polish is not the same thing as being white.)

Just thought I'd share. Latinization is an interesting subject, but isn't the rates to 2050, you know, not taking in P.O. and just have the status quo reached far into the future?

the sad part is is that the last remnants of americas open spaces and wilderness will be consumed and bleached with this last population surge. any one want to argue with me? Who the fuck in their right mind believes 4+/per breeding female (reaches reproductive maturity its pregnant) is sustainable? If you do your IQ has got to be sub 90. alas their is no Technlogical "fix" for this one. Its done.Sadly 90% of these breeders are sub 90 IQ and have zero conservation ethics. Facts. Those that support this are pure drool material. and as sson as civil war breaks out keep the fuck off my turf. They will be swarming by 2030 maybe earlier. Good luck! 8O

Now there's an area where the USA really can learn a lot from Europe- ethnic cleansing. No one can do it quite like the Europeans can.

Is it true, Lorenzo, that in Brussels these days the most popular baby boy's name is Mohammed? Has that development been pretty positive for Belgium?

I don't know where you live ECM... but where I live there is no melting pot. Lots of hispanics around here either don't know a lick of English or will not speak it. Their intention seems to be to assimilate us to them by shear numbers. Now, at the risk of sounding rasist. I agree with one of the previous posters that it seems to be about 4+ children per female as fast as they can pump them out. If they are not pregnant when they show up, they soon are...

Huh. I live in Chicago burbs, and it sure seems like the second generation of Latinos are very different.

The first generation are the hardest damn workers you'll ever find. But their children are the fattest most lazy little pukes you'll ever see. :x

I think a little the INS deserves a little more funding. They're not doing as good a job as they used to. [smilie=glasses7.gif]

IMO it's the Mexican government that needs it's feet put to the fire, not the Mexican people themselves.

I live in south Texas, and have traveled to Mexico many times over the years, so needless to say I've met many Mexicans.

Except for the assholes, (which every culture has), I find most Mexicans to be... pretty much just like Americans.

Which is to say, just like everyone else on the planet.

A somewhat generic mix of wonders & horrors, with small pockets of compassion & humility mixed in.

The federal government in Mexico however, is pure evil.

You folks criticize American politicians quite a bit, but by comparison with Mexico, Bush & company are like Eagle Scouts. I have a friend who is getting the business-end of Mexican government screwing right now in fact. Not to apologize for anything the US government has and is doing of course.

The big difference is that in the US, we live to catch people doing bad things so we can crucify them for it. Hell, we almost impeached a sitting President for getting an Oval Office Hummer... I thought everybody knew that comes with the job, and is in fact, one of the few redeeming aspects of high public office.

Mexico's government is like watching the Sopranos.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'N')UEVO LAREDO, MEXICO - When Alejandro Dominguez was sworn in as police chief of this violent border city Wednesday, reporters asked him if he was afraid of dying.

"I believe the corrupt officials are the ones who are scared," Dominguez, the former head of Nuevo Laredo's Chamber of Commerce, replied. "The only people I work for are the public."

Six hours later, Dominguez, 52, lay dead, felled by a fusillade of bullets as he left his office in the center of town. He was the seventh — and most senior — police officer killed since January in this city of 500,000 people across the border from Laredo.

You beat me to the punch Aaron.

If the Mexican government was worth a damn the poor masses in Mexico wouldn't feel the need to come to the US. Lorenzo, should I expect our politicians to become even more corrupt as the Latino voting machine ramps up?

Daculling, I am talking about the Hispanic population becoming Amercanized. After a couple of generations they will be just like the rest of Americans regardless of where their origins are. I have met immigrants from many countries and most of their children show typical American patterns. I have lived in Nevada and Arizona the last 3.5 years so I see and hear the vast immigrant invasion.

I am also very much against this pattern of immigration and have met a few immigrants who don't want any more here either. So far I refuse to learn Spanish.

I want to remind my dear American friends of the fact that the situation in their country is still very reasonable, compared to the one in the EU.

The EU attracts more immigrants than any other place on the planet. It's the world's most wanted destination.

Last year alone, 700 000 Latin Americans entered Spain, which is just one member state of the EU.

Hundreds of thousands of people from Africa, the Middle East, the Maghreb, Central Asia and Russia enter the EU as well each year.

The main difference between the EU and the US, besides the fact that the EU has more net immigration, is that the EU's immigrant population is far more diverse.

I want a source also as the U.S. population is growing at a faster rate than the E.U. and most of that growth is from immigration and children of immigrants. That is in excess of 30 million people added in 10 years to the U.S. population.

E.U. population growth of .16% of 457 million = 731K
U.S. population growth of .92% of 295 million = 2800K

Net migration for the U.S. is far higher than the E.U. as a percentage of population. 220% of the E.U.’s according to the CIA factbook.

However, according to the CIA factbook the fertility rate for the U.S. is 2.08 or about the amount needed to maintain population. The E.U. fertility rate is 1.48. Thus with an average life expectancy of 78 the E.U. would need 1.76 million immigrants per year to maintain population given 2.08 fertility rate as maintenance level.

Therefore we take the E.U. growth of 731K and add 1760K which = 2491K

The numbers don't add in your favor Lorenzo.
