BO's people were asked directly by the press if they were going to mint a
Trillion dollar coin and they refused to rule it out

No word yet whether BO will also use his magic beans

The biggest problem with the trillion dollar coin is that it might tip the masses off that the whole economic system is nonsense, and then the whole game falls apart. It's falling apart now anyway, but this would be a bit too much. If the economy is like a monopoly game right now most of us are hoping we'll hit free parking or staying in jail as much as we can. The big players have hotels on all the properties and are fighting it out. We're in real trouble, but only a handful of people know it.

It must be true - I found a picture of it on the internet:Image

and a nice poem about it:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'W')ith the Debt Ceiling coming up soon, it
Is time (although some may impugn it)
For coining a halt
To a US default
With a really big monet'ry unit.

A one-trillion coin, it is said,
Could be minted and shipped to the Fed,
In order to pay
What the US of A
Might be forced to renege on instead.

This sizeable denomination
Would be kept out of mass circulation,
The better to sidestep
That such an untried step
Precipitates hyperinflation.

When Republicans finally come round
From running bond issuance aground,
It's back to the Mint
For the Coin, where its stint
Will be wound up with melting it down.

So let's mint The Coin out of platinum!
Though objections there be, we may flatten 'em.
There are ways besides cash
'Round the Debt Ceiling clash,
But there's nothing as clever as that in 'em.

Well said, Revi. I too think we are in big trouble. I just wish I knew better how to plan because the gov't is so good at kicking the can down the road that it could keep this nonsense going for decades. At some point, the debt will need to be dealt with, and it won't be fun. Even if they just make the Fed's digital 1's and 0's go away, the world will never see the USA as the same again.

Well they nixed the coin idea, but they might try something similar and not tell us. We are in big trouble. Did you know that the Chinese bought 4 times as much gold as they did T-bills last year? The Fed is the biggest customer for those nowadays. Once the whole game goes down it is going to be painful. Fiat currencies last about 40 years on average, and we are at 42 if you call the end of coins having silver content the point where we went to a totally fiat currency.
