$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '[')b]Letter: Candidate for RMLD Board asks for support
Thursday, February 10, 2005

To the editor,
I am a candidate for the Municipal Light Board, and I ask Reading voters to re-elect me.
The Light Board has done good work in the last three years. Customers received rebates totaling $9.5 million in the last three years. The Board tightened all its policies. Each week the Board carefully examines the warrant.
I'm an early retired software manager from Raytheon where my engineering degrees from MIT and Stanford served me well.
Living in Reading since 1966, I am the Reading coordinator for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program that prepares and e-files tax returns for local resident - last year we served almost 300 clients at the Reading Library. Recently I have served as the Precinct 3 election warden, and I served in Town Meeting.
Since noted geologists have said that world oil production has peaked, I think that the Light Board must explore the question "What should the RMLD do about conservation?"
I believe my record as a reform member of the Board is a good one, and I ask Reading voters to re-elect me.

Searching around I found this thread, who do you think is the better peak oil Candidate on election day 2012? You can talk about any race in your voting booth from President on down to dog catcher ;)
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Alfred Tennyson', 'W')e are not now that strength which in old days

One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Bob Soli is on the RMLD till 2014. (It's great there are people like him. Otherwise RMLD would be sold off to Ripoff Robber Baron Inc.)

Are you looking for a last minute candidate?

Is present company included?
Facebook knows you're a dog.

Seriously, I think the Plateau is ending and Peak Oil is going to start to bite in next year. That means in the next election Peak Oil is going to be a factor to be reckoned with. In many states the year after the POTUS cycle is the state cycle so who do you propose on a local/state level to deal with the local/state issues Peak Oil is going to be throwing at us?
