I'm just waiting for the Iran situation to get a bit dodgy in November and oil to spike at 128 dollars before moving back a touch. Mwahahaha!

Well that would put us both pretty near the top. All depends on how far back it drops.:)

Since another new low price was reported this last week, we have a new #2. Obiwan still has a huge lead at this time.

And the race isn't half over...

I noted SeaGypsy's recent rise in the standings. Three years in a row??? Naw... :P

Edit: Please ignore the average price at the top of the scorecard. That was last week's average price for the year. I forgot to update that cell in the spreadsheet. The average price is now down to $100.84 for the year.
There’s a strange irony related to this subject [oil and gas extraction] that the better you do the job at exploiting this oil and gas, the sooner it is gone.

Top 5 baby! Now if it could just drop a touch more to 80 then rise again that would be great.

Look at oil plunge, I may have yet to break the top 20 but this year is turning out to be pretty exciting! Undulating Plateau is a nice way of saying roller coaster ride :)

Two months ago I was ranked #34 and now 14th. Now I just need to wait for the pop of the China balloon for the panic sell and the recovery. Even if it only goes down to $60, my low will be at par with the majority who hovered in the $80 range.

At this point I'd say the soonest there is any action against Iran would be Monday January 21, 2013. Assuming, of course, we are given the luxury of choosing the time and place.

Your nearest Obama 2012 re-elect headquarters.

I suppose there is still a chance of an Israeli strike before then so the Israeli embassy would be another venue to explore.

Well, frankly, it's just not on. How dare they ruin my chances of love and respect by imposing some arbitrary non-2012 date for their invasion. Harrumph!

EIA reported another new low price this week. Again, I forgot to update the average oil price (I just need to link that cell to the correct cell on the "Data" page in my workbook), so please ignore the average. That was the YTD annual average on June 6th.

Not too much change in the overall standings...

Obiwan has one helluva lead at this point. Has anyone asked him his scheme for picking prices which to date are pretty spot on?

I asked him how he was able to attain such greatness, and his verbatim response was: "I am a lesser God ... and I am superior to all mortals. From now on, you shall kneel in my presence."

I was wandering more about "it could only go that high because...XXXXX...and it will drop that low because...XXXX.. and it will stay there throughout the year because...XXX", you know, stuff the rest of us can learn from, considering how spot on the high/lows are to date.
