Crazy, I broke my Kindle yesterday ... somehow. The screen went 'silly' on me. I called Amazon and a new one should arrive tomorrow!

Anyhow, I was about to show the kindle version to a friend and ... wth? I couldn't!

Note: I was advised this morning that the distributor, Amazon, has dropped the price to $11.48. Barnes and Noble, Amazon, and Tower Books all have it at $11.48. They set the price, so this is fantastic news! I thought you all would want to know.

I haven't been back to this thread, but am in the middle of the book, and it's freaky because it feels pretty close to actually happening. In fact I PM'd the sequel question before I noticed it in a post above, so it MUST happen.

I'll get at least a dozen folks hooked, all of them doubters but they have faith in me, and therefore in eastbay.

I guess this is how stuff goes "viral".

I thought some of you might be interested to meet (in a recent video) Big Joe Hancock: the real-life character upon whom one of the main characters in Shut Down is based. He's the Real Deal, folks.

As you can see, he's almost exactly as described in the book. 6' 3", 250+ lbs. No fat. He's the younger man lifting the bar to the older man in this sterile and spartan army weight room.
